Also an Arsenal fan. We definitely overpaid for him. I’m pretty sure he cost us more than Gabriel Jesus did, and Gabriel Jesus is currently one of the best strikers out there. Anyone who consistently started for one of Pep’s teams is one of the best footballers out there. His time at Chelsea imo certainly wasn’t underwhelming (he was instrumental in their 2021 UCL campaign), but he is def a tad expensive. Rice also seems a bit too pricey lowkey.

As a chelsea fan I can say that we have all waited to see havertz unleash his potential. 3 different managers and none were able to get the best out of him. Like tuchel once said, he is a 9.5 hybrid. I wish havertz all the best but I don't think he will thrive

You will have to find the perfect position for him. In the shown s11 it would work imo, with odegaard lying deeper and havertz as a mix of advanced midfielder and support striker. In this role he played his best at Leverkusen with a great link up play with julian brandt. With odegaard as his new partner and the impressive front 3, this looks really exciting. Obviously there is no doubt that Havertz is outstanding technically. Also he is a very intelligent player and great in decision making, as well as he becomes more and more of a leader (takes penalties for example). This 5 players in Arsenal offense would be absolute world class in terms of technique, passing, dribbling, playmaking, and still lots of potential. Makes it easier for havertz to fit in. So long story short, i understand the sceptical thoughts and hes really expensive and maybe overpaid. But i think this will work really well and in a few month maybe nobody talks about the 70m anymore.

Looking back at it was poor. Quite similar to last season, what was more important was quality squad depth which was more of a priority in my opinion than the players we got. Havertz is bad signing(everyone saw what he was capable of at Chelsea and due to his signing, FFP/PAS rules are on our backs), but the rest are good. Overall 6/10

There was no problem with the attack, arsenal broke their record for the most goals in a season. It was defense and midfield that needed strengthening and with havertz being able to play down the wing too, it relieves pressure off Saka to have to perform every week

As an Arsenal fan, it really would be a stupid decision to lose both Partey and Xhaka in the same window because they're both solid players in their peak coming off of good seasons... keep one and sign Rice... This gives them solid squad depth: They have players like Tomiyasu, Zinchenko, White and Timber who can play across the backline and in midfield but can specialize as an inverted full backs, but strength with two world class center backs in Saliba and Gabriel with Kiwior as an option; as well as a player like Tierney who can offer a different dimension down that left flank if he does stay. Jorginhois top quality experience, and along side Rice and Partey, a player like Elneny, with the attacking talents of Odegaard, Havertz, Vieira and Smith Rowe, Arsenal could really excel in their 4-3-3 system. Jesus, Saka and Martinelli can play interchangeably and having two, hungry young strikers with the likes of Balogun and Nketiah competing could transform the team. Reiss Nelson will be key I reckon next season. The biggest mistake Arsenal could make is selling squad players without replacement, especially players in the starting XI which have been so key to this title challenge...

I dissagree with you, i think Arteta will Imitate City Pep with 3-2-4-1 for sure, Ramsdale will be the main GK, and the 3 CB are Saliba, White, Timber (and Arteta can make a rotation with gabriel in that area), and the double DMF i think Zinchenko (correct me if i wrong how to spell his name hehe) and Rice in that position and dont forget we also had Partey and Jorginho (So Arteta have enough player in that position), and the 2 AMF will be ødegard, and havertz (arteta also have a youngstar E. That midfield three would get destroyed in the prem. It looks like a slight downgrade tbh because having 2 offensive cm and a cdm only as rice would not work well against teams like city or Liverpool. If Manchester United can get absolutely dominated in the midfield with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes (who are far more proven and experienced) then those midfield line ups you showed will result the same if not worse for Arsenal in big games and in the UCL it could be disastrous (it already has this 22-23 season so yeah at best slightly better but not enough to dismantle Manchester city or Liverpool in my opinion especially with Liverpool’s new signings they make me fear them)
