Which i think can relate to irl growth via yourself or others, even pets i suppose. if your around them, everyday for that matter, especially in self perspective, it may be hard to see the gradual changing. For those wondering, tuberculosis is EXTREMELY expedited by being at sea or in tropical environments. Normally, in a relatively temperate climate without a lot of drastic changes, tuberculosis doesn't readily manifest for sometimes many years. Arthur going out to sea and being shipwrecked in the Caribbean greatly accelerated his disease, which is why his health starts to deteriorate so rapidly.
