When Arthur was loan sharking for Strauss, in those moments, he wasn't much better than Micah. I actually hated those missions, the only exception was the one where that guy digs up that deceased lady's grave to collect the payment, that one I kinda enjoyed, as even Arthur was like: "DUDE!"

Indeed. Regardless if you play low honor or high honor as Arthur, there is one thing that doesn't change about his character; Arthur DOES NOT take bullshit from anyone, and I do mean, anyone. You can even check his body language in that scene how furious he is at Micah's accusations and the only reason he didn't fully engage is because Arthur knows his limits and knows that as a sick person, he doesn't stand much of a chance in a fist fight. In the final battle, yes, Arthur completely wrecks Micah in a fight despite being sick and dying, but he himself had exhausted himself, which is how Arthur actually died. Not from a beating but by sheer exhaustion. If Arthur was healthier in this scene, there isn't a doubt in my mind, he would have grabbed Micah by the neck right here and shoved his stupid face into a wall for the disrespect. Bill might've interjected saying they need Micah alive for this one mission, but that alone would have humbled Micah enough to not act like an idiot with a deathwish around Arthur
@prod_by_walker8082 жыл бұрын
@@bullshark7888Truth! Except how Arthur dies depends on your honor/Final decision. With the High Honor/Go with John ending I agree it's probably a combination of exhaustion and TB about to kill him anyway. There's other endings tho

at first "players choice" in this game looks like it changes nothing. But when you look on the whole picture you understand that depending on "good vs evil" scale (meter), it actually tells different stories. these scales create context and character growth (which is not happening in witcher 3, geralt does not grow). if you lean to light this game tells how a good man wrestles giant and sacrifices himself for others. from grey to light. it is story about conflict and change. if it is the giant who has won. it's story how man dives into darkness. but the last remains of light guides to good deeds befor his last breath. even last choice "go for gold/help Marston" depending on scales creates different interpretations. That's pretty good storytelling implemented in gameplay and "player's choice".

yeah. thr genius was they knew they could technically have the exact same ending but change the context.

Normally characters like him would have been shown to us already dead. You know the cliche; "An amazing old guy died and protagonist follows his footsteps" shit. But in RDR2 we are playing that "amazing old guy". That's why this game is special to me.

Arthur and RDR1 John are some of my favorite fiction characters period. It’s crazy how they followed up an iconic character with an equally iconic one in the next game. Even if rdr never gets another prequel or sequel, the series gave us two absolute classics

What i love about arthur is that hes an absolute badass outlaw but he didnt die in any honorable fashion like most other main characters, he died how most people died in the west.. disease. It shows how despite him being this badass cowboy outlaw, hes still mortal, and when he talks to the nun it shows how he may not be scared of death, hes scared of what could come next

If this was a movie Roger Clarke would be sleeping next to an Oscar, and he probably wouldn't be the only one. This game is the The Wire of Gaming, it's a bit sad when it's done coz I find it hard to imagine anyone producing something as special again in terms of story.

SPOILER EP6 Its insane how sad it got to me from "Arthur is" to "Arthur was" after finishing the episodes. I took him for granted the whole time but now I miss him and playing it again does not make it better. It would be just replaying the past. The first gameplay was indeed something special. It was a real adventure. It was fun until it lasted.
