& huge contribution goes to C Prakash who was GM of Engine Division in Ashok Leyland. He was the first person from IIT Madras who converted a Diesel engine in Hydrogen combustion Engine back in 1978. From Non Euro Standards to BS6 of Ashok Leyland C Prakash has huge contribution in making Engines of Leyland Reliable, Robust & Current Emission Standard norms in Vehicles. P15 engine of Ashok Leyland Dost was his own design which is more competitive than TATA Ace in Market.

Ashok Leyland is the company who started the truck revolution in India . They are the first company to introduce Power steering, turbo in trucks in India . They also introduced multiaxle trucks in India They are the first company in india to introduce seperate chassis for trucks and buses and also to introduce boge axel fully build cabin in trucks turbo intercooler etc . Ashok Leyland also introduced the first ABS brake system for heavy vehicles in India. Ashok Leyland is best in terms of reliability and driving comfort. But sadly Ashok Leyland is very underated

I must say stallion is quite a rugged truck when it comes to hilly regions eicher and tata trucks fail here but swaraj Mazda gives quite a tough competition when it comes to 6 wheels truck.

Swaraj mazda was a partnership between mazda and punjab govt(swaraj). Later mazda share was acquired by Isuzu. Later punjab govt sold their share to isuzu and swaraj brand to mahindra. Now isuzu have problems because he need to remove swaraj name with in three year as per m&a terms. But isuzu truck name was not as famous as swaraj mazda . So they have used first word of swaraj mazda ltd(sml). Now it is 100% owned by isuzu.

Licencing system was introduced in 1950s for protecting our nascent Indian industry, from the external competition of technologically superior and giant European and American companies, just as, a small child is given protection by his mother from big boys outside. ..But it became an excuse for Indian companies to avoid growth and innovation and a source of money making for politicians and government servants. It happened in many communist and mixed economy countries like USSR and China also. Eventually they all realised that 'enough is enough' and opened their economies for external competition. Protection is leading to inefficiency. India also opened up in 1991 economic reforms, but at that time the government was severly criticised for the move..and it was said at that time, that East India Company has been given reentry in the country and India will be slave again..
