Beware glorifying profit motivation, for it can just as easily work against progress. So we will mine asteroids to be taken down to earth? That would be extremely expensive and would only make sense if it's very noble metals and an asteroid with ALOT of it. And mine asteroids to be refined and used in space, only to have materials to build other mines is not feasiby, that's the start of an economic bubble that's gonna burst. It's not going to start as a private sector, the public sector need to pioneer and begin something and create an initial demand first before someone is gonna find money in it and have other business spiral outwards and build from that.
