Private sector always does better than govt. They have profits as a motivation and that is who will push our civilization to the next level, or carry us along with them more accurately.
@JoyfulChristine3 ай бұрын
@@deadwaterblacksmithing So far, most space exploration has been government funded, maybe because there's no profit in it? Beware glorifying profit motivation, for it can just as easily work against progress. For example, with many of the problems we have on Earth (climate change, PFAS and microplastic pollution, etc), profit-seeking is what got us into these messes, and now we're choosing to protect the profits over protecting the planet.

@Phooenixification3 ай бұрын
So we will mine asteroids to be taken down to earth? That would be extremely expensive and would only make sense if it's very noble metals and an asteroid with ALOT of it. And mine asteroids to be refined and used in space, only to have materials to build other mines is not feasiby, that's the start of an economic bubble that's gonna burst. It's not going to start as a private sector, the public sector need to pioneer and begin something and create an initial demand first before someone is gonna find money in it and have other business spiral outwards and build from that.

we honestly have to stop focusing on earth's money. especially when addressing preserving the life of the earth. exploring our solar system. advancing further in the universe. money is non-essential. other intelligent life couldn't give a cat's flea collar about paper money made on earth. as a people we are suppose to band together and advance save our earth. move further into space. we can't even explore space properly, because we are, in dishonest fashion, subjecting space exploration to the need for money and we clearly know we don't need money to explore space. money only matters on this planet. imagine if money were never created. imagine if great minds worked without barriers. imagine if money were not the barrier it's allowed to be. imagine how much further we'd be along in space. people say things like, well we need money to build rockets. orbiters, robotics. no, no we don't. people/companies require money. it's not at all needed. yet these documentaries continue to pump the notion out there that, if only we had the money, we could be at this point. oh if we could just make it more cost-effective. oh this material is no inexpensive. oh to go to this asteroid, to mars, to jupiter, saturn, enceladus, titan, it requires this amount. we can't have multi-operational missions because of the lack of funding. it's so outrageous. humans literally created money & now we use money as an excuse not to achieve, progress, advance...
