Unfortunately this happened to my 2011 kawasaki kx450f. I was just about to sell it for a low ball and it started first go. Stalled on take off then boom. Thought it was locked up and turned out it broke a spring on the cam. Kept the bike too this day goes good

My auto decompression does not work on my pressure washer, so I adjusted the exhaust valve to be open slightly, will this be OK

Also it does now start without yanking my arm out.

Not a good idea because it will burn the exhaust valve the valve with an auto the compressor only sticks open when it's being cranked over, and then it closes itself

@@trxtech3010 it's mayde only a year old, and it belongs to some friends. Who can't find their receipt or remember what store they bought it from. So is it the internal spring that is broke? And I havent taken any motor apart. I had it running, maybe set the exhaust valve back and see if the compression release set itself free.

@@trxtech3010 Unbelievable when I went to put exhaust valve back as it should be, I first wanted to observe and see if the bump was present on the exhaust valve, so I pulled the engine over slowly and now it worked, unreal but true, so set exhaust valve back, and now it runs like a dream. Thinking back about my career choice, being a student mechanic 40 years ago for a one time school year has paid off when I worked at a Dodge dealership and had my hands on a 340 Duster. But i went Instrumentation Technologist. And now this year I've repaired 6 pieces of outdoor equipment, good retirement hobby🙂

I have 2004 bajaj pulsar 180 dtsi model . Its camshaft have a decompressor and it makes tik tik noice. So what happens will i remove that part out of my camshaft . Bike have both kick and self start .

It will be really hard to turn the engine over if you remove the decompressor.
