I'm primarily a metalhead but I have always like Cypress Hill. Temples of Boom is a Monster of a album... I had no idea that B real was a blood. The fact he wanted to be a journalist and ended up a rapper in a group that tours with metal and rock bands, talk about a unique life. These podcasts provide such valuable insight not only into the artists or persons but also into life. I learn so much about my own life listening to people like b real talk about his own experience.

What I loved about Cypress Hill's "gangster" songs is that at the end of the song B-Real dies, or everyone dies. While other groups with their "on the street" songs they talk about how they're killing everyone and making dollar. With CH they're telling you how it is and there's consequences, other groups are living in fantasy

Frank Lopez Being young is always better than being old. Never wish your youth away. You’re already almost 40 - there’s no reason to act like that’s a good thing. Try to hold onto your youth for as long as humanly possible.
@franklopez27025 жыл бұрын
Johnny Crash the only way to stop aging is death bro. I get what you are saying but i dont envy the youth of these times most of them basically luve in their phones and social media and if anything that will change a lersons perception of time dramtically and make life go by faster. At my age i can get more chicks ( even young ones) than i could when i was 20 , i can run faster and workout better than my young self. Alot of young dudes now are depressed and anxious and on meds and out of shape and insecure and basically old and broken down already. 40 is not a bad thing.

I'm a very strange but very kind dude from Finalnd. I grew up with the MTV that actually had music. I listened to alot of different shit, like trance, rap, metal, queen, bon jovi... all kind of stuff. I remenber Yo MTV Raps well and B-Real, thats whre my respect of rap music came from 100% but I didn't just stay in one lane. I also watched Headbangers Ball and all sort of stuff. I really loved MTV when it was about real music. But it really went downhill from there when the pop's started taking over. Yea I know why, sales. It was all about money and it's kinda understandable as a business thing but I really apreciated what Yo MTV Rap gave me.. well us. Because you know FInland back then was like 99.9% really white people. You just can't get any whiter and the culture was such. Damn near all of us had either full on or semi racist dad's stuff. it took time for us to find our own feelings about that and seeing you guys being real and just talking about your stuff or your influences helped I think. I've never been anyone to judge based on color or where you come from, all that matters is how you conduct yourself as a person. Now, sure when the gangsta rap started taking off there was alot of things I couldn't agree on but when you really try to think about where those people came from, theres some understanding. One think I really hated and though would destroy the whole industry was the East-West "war". It as so stupid IMO, and totally avoidable and you ..well I guess WE lost many very talented people. Some probably due to misinformed trigger happy people on either side. It was sad, still sometimes brings tears to my eyes when I listen to NWA, Tupac, Snoop, cube, dre from those times, It just all west sideways, It's funny sometimes with my friends when playing games that involve questions about rappers since i'm kinda the only one that knows anything about that scene. As I mentioned, we are very white :D
