Idk about industry plant, but he definitely became mainstream famous due to everyone realizing he was Kendrick’s cousin on Family Ties. He still had some buzz tho because of Orange Soda and Moshpit, and kinda disappeared for a year or 2 after that. If he was an industry plant, I feel like the label would want to keep his buzz going instead going away until family ties like he did.

It’s not what you know it’s who you know. When family looks out for family that’s a blessing. Family usually takes out one another for fame and fortune so to see family watching out for each other is a great thing. People get signed a lot and barely any get signed because they’re family. Every now and then so nothing wrong with it. Help a family member catch a bag why not. Better then let a family member catch a hot one to the chest. Family’s don’t move like they used to so it’s nice to see a change.

I was like what label was he using, who made this video etc and yeah I found out about Kendrick because I observe him too. I was pissed a little when I heard the references but I stoppped caring because the potential was there and Kendrick was helping him like Dr. Dre did. But what it taught me was how fast and calculated you have to be to make it especially when you start buzzing. PGLang was so calculated it was not even funny. Showed me that’s the only way to reach the top: timing and execution and packaging,

Also it is funny to me how the 3 greats right now of hip hop were handpicked by the best from the previous generation. J.Cole with Jay Z, Drake with Lil Wayne, Kendrick with Dr. Dre. Heck, Tyler the Creator and Pharrell have a similar relationship as Pharrell opened up some doors for him. This is like having a champion dad who’s gonna help his son not make the same mistakes as him and there is nothing wrong with that ngl. an artist having a platform isn’t a bad thing for me unless u start seeing stuff about them when u don’t go out of ur way to see it or when radios play songs regardless of how bad a song is just cus they have a lot of money or respect. I only knew about orange soda until 2022 and then i heard family ties and thought it was great so listened to his catalogue, i like how i’d never heard about him even tho his cousin is who he is. So it’s not one of those industry plants where someone just wants to put a family member on and they’re actually not talented, keem is talented and made his own way. His cousin might’ve helped him financially and gave him a great couple songs and i’ll get hate for this but i actually like more keem songs than kendrick songs which is great for keem cus it shows people aren’t just listening for him cus of who he is
