The spr and sab50 should have sniper flinch tbh. Makes them really cheese that they don't. Nerfing flinch of all marksman rifles would ruin the mk2 and the semi auto rifles

What kinda ADS do u want them to have ? The ttk is so fast it would be unfair for every DMR sniper if they aim in like 30-40% slower than they are right now My problem with the SPR and the SAB are the ppl who play them without a scope and call it sniping For example the fastest ads marksman rifle is the Mk2 but it shouldn’t be nerfed since it does a lot of hitmarkers at 30 m and even up close to the torso if they nerf the Marksman rifles hopefully they won’t nerf them all and not all by a lot I agree that they need to do something but then again I want them to buff the LAB 330 for example bc it’s so slow for quickscoping It’s unfair to nerf the normal snipers I say this bc I see a lot of ppl saying regular snipers are OP they don’t pay attention when killed by them every weapon is OP if they pre aim the corner Same with shotguns at a certain range or hardscoping sniper ppl at range it’s all the same if everyone is pre aiming corners all weapons should get nerfed and that’s where the problem lies it is the short ttk bc u can’t outgun someone with „skill“ that’s by game design it’s sad but a reality we have to see It’s not the weapons it’s the game with SBMM we get into lobbies with ppl using meta guns and knowing how to aim and hold angles

@@elemental2374 I'd rather leave them quick but have sniper flinch, because I feel they're very difficult to counter because they can tank 100ms of your damage and 1 tap you when you still have 100ms left to go to kill them because of the low flinch I also think that this change would make the mk2 lever action more relevant. In mw19 it was relevant for being really fast despite its small 1 shot area and short range. In mw2 though the spr and sab50 are the same speed effectively, with much longer range and pretty forgiving 1 shot areas too. On tip of this the bolt action was made faster, so the mk2 is honestly pretty bad off rn

I feel the base flinch definitely needs to be increased for the SPR and the other Marksman Rifle in that gun tree. There's so many situations where I'm lighting someone up, they're close to death and they still manage to kill me before I can kill them. Like I've literally started shooting at them before they've even seen me and they just turn around and take me out. Yes I understand it takes quite a bit of skill to use bolt actions rifles but I run into players using them so much even on the smaller maps.

never notice flinch as an issue. The real issue is the screen going black and white, destroying your vision. Sniper flinch also seem to be done in one frame making it feel impossible to fight through it.

You didn't cover how much flinch you receive when you lower your flinch resistance with tuning optics! When you tune you can lower yours for an increase in ADS speed, something that I think a lot of people do, so adding that would be useful.

Im a non sniper trying to gd snipers. Ive found running around aiming low (knee caps and lower) and that allows for your reaction time to be trash because as soon as youre shot, aim and shoot, the flinch will line you up for a head shot.

From my own testing with the flinch grip on the SP-X 80 (Lynx Grip I think). It actually also seems to make your gun ADS faster even though it doesn't claim to. I tested it multiple times @ 60fps and it was consistently 1 frame (~16ms) faster with the flinch grip compared to no grip. Also when you tune the flinch grips they have tuning options for "ADS speed".

Video idea: A video showcasing the different aim assist types (standard, Black Ops) since there have been word around, that Black Ops is way stronger. At the same time footage is around, that if you rotate your left stick while someone passes by, the rotational aim assist is crazy strong. Would be nice to see this debunked or confirmed. Ye wining against an AR with a sniper at long range is pretty tough because of the flinch and if you get an hit marker you’re dead if at least sniper would cause flinch ( like I would expect from a sniper bullet) it would make it almost fair

I think something that alot of people aren't accounting for when it comes to AR flinch is recoil. Flinch ABSOLUTELY matters and will compound with Recoil + Low Stability. Honestly I found that Stability and Flinch attachments give more accuracy overall vs Recoil Attachments.

I think flinch should also be based on how much zoom your optic has. If you are getting shot while looking through a mini reflex sight, it should have less flinch than if you are shot while looking through a 10x scope.

It would be nice if flinch was more horizontal than vertical, that way having first shot would matter more. With pure vertical flinch experienced players can use that as a way to ride shots into the head. It would also help against the plague of SPRs by forcing more of their shots to miss, or redirect to other parts of the body that aren’t 1 shot kills.

Based on your findings and how OP marksmen rifles are in this game, I think they should be higher and basically middle to "other guns" and snipers. They basically are sniper rifles in a way especially since they 1 or 2 shot.

I think you're really underselling the effect of anti flinch attachments/perk on regular guns. Based on your findings, if you're aiming for upper torso/head (which you should for optimal ttk) then having no or even one anti flinch mod can make the difference between hitting and missing your shot in a gun fight. I know the base flinch isn't a lot, so the average player that aims for the body won't notice but if you aim for the head, you'll end up missing a lot of shots because of flinch.

I say marksman rifles (at at least the ones that have a 1 shop potential below the head) should have more flinch. Another thing ive been having a problem with, is everyone is using lower zoom scopes on snipers because it doesn't have the sniper glint. I feel all snipers should have sniper glint no matter the scope. That was literally the reason sniper glint is in games now, so you know when you might be killed instantly by a sniper and to move away.

The problem with having super fast and non-flinching one-shot weapons (ala SPR, iron sighted sniper, etc.) is that there is only the downsides of capacity and fire rate without the shotguns major downside: range. If a shotgun one shots you, that's its advantage of being slow (and few in rounds to shoot) - it disintegrates you up close, but not any further. The one-shot MRs and super-fast snipers have access to that damage potential at almost any range in 6v6, and the scope can be removed for practically no downsides because of how clean the irons are. It's more poor balancing from modern COD alongside elephant footstep audio, the back and forth UAV / Dead Silence meta in SnD, and the asinine perk system.

Flinch shouldn't be a thing in the first place... It's random, because you can't predict the exact moment you get shot. It kicks way harder than normal recoil and it's a more violent and quick kick. This combination means no matter how good you are, you can't really react to flinch to control it. It will throw you off unless you aim lower in advance. Additionally, you have the joy of getting randomly headshot by your opponent, after your bullets flinched their bad aim into your head... After you shot them first no less... These factors create a mechanic that discourages headshots, as you're far more likely to miss if you flinch at head-level. And it encourages lower skill (aiming at the torso instead of the head), since it's more consistent to just shoot at torso-level and hope for a random flinch headshot... I'd rather have snipers running around like mad men, than deal with these unnecessary problems. At least that way I know my opponent's aim was on point. But if they really just want to balance sniper and marksman rifles, then don't affect other weapon types with flinch (useless) and ideally make a new kind of flinch that is controllable using skill. Something like increased sway for a few seconds should do, as it's controllable, but still throws you off for getting shot at.

I’ve never been shot irl, but it seems to me that all weapons but snipers need more flinch for sure. Snipers may or may not need more flinch. Whomever gets shots on target first should be more greatly rewarded…I’d be ok also with adding more HP or reducing bullet damage values to increase TTK.

I miss directional flinch, if it still exists it isn't much. Also it should increase based on how much damage you take like it used to imo also. Hit markers from the barret would do more than a p90 from 50 meters away. It changing based on your hands is good for balance but imo it should be both.

I would say that, honestly more than flinch, I feel like mw2 really noticeably messes with visibility when firing. I remember people talking about muzzle flash during the beta, but even post-beta I feel like this is still the case. Just go into the firing range and pick any gun and mag dump at a target, especially the farthest one. It doesn't matter if you use a suppressor, flash hider, or no muzzle, the smoke from the barrel just clouds everything in front of you, and if not for the hitmarker sound+graphic, I feel like it's kind of hard to tell if you're still landing your shots. Now, I'd say also that this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just something I noticed. Another little random thing as well, following the dust clouds from an explosion, mid/high zoom optics seem to be able to peek through them a little bit better. This also appears to work in locations with a lot of glare, e.g. the outdoors areas in Embassy.

As a marksman user primarily, marksmen needs way more flinch. If I throw on a snipers optic it essentially becomes a sniper class weapon. So why not tone down the flinch for snipers and turn up flinch for marksman’s.

Something that I don't hear people talk about is how busted flinch is when meleeing someone. I've been in a few situations where me and someone else crash when turning a corner or something. When that happens, I always start to shoot. But if the other player starts to melee and I get hit, my aim is thrown way off and I miss the following shots. Before I even get time to correct my aim, the opponent hits me again and I die. It doesn't happen often thankfully but when it does its so stupid and annoying.

It’s definitely debatable, but I think that’s melee flinch working as intended. Being in similar situations it’s not a guarantee one way or the other. I find a lot a fun in trying to get a bead back on target and keep distance as well as rushing in hoping I have enough time and skill to get two hits off.

It's intentional. It's a substitute for instant kill knifing in older CODs, but it gives you a slight chance to survive.

The flinch on the snipers is ridiculous! I've gotten headshots when I aimed at the lower groin area after being flinched, and it was on Shipment! A small map! What I hate is that you have to sacrifice aim down sight speed to have flinch resistance attachments, and snipers already have some of the slowest ADS speeds as it is! Snipers are already at a disadvantage as it is compared to most of the other weapon classes. They're the only weapons I have to use the focus perk on. I never had to use that perk for any other weapon class!

I'm fine with base flinch for all weapons except marksman rifles. They definitely need flinch added. Sniper flinch is fine to, I don't think it should be reduced. They need to use focus which is fair.

I never understood why flinch is always up. If it’s a response to pain, shouldn’t the movement be more randomized? Furthermore, since the character is more likely to get shot below where they’re holding the gun. Shouldn’t the flinch be downward? When you’re hurt you’re going to instinctively try to cover where you got hurt. Flinching up would just exposed the injured area more.

I find the decision to base flinch off what gun you are holding an odd one, but it is what it is I suppose. I do wish the +P ammo gave aa much affect and either the flinch resist attachment or the perk. I think the SPR/SAB need balancing, and additional flinch could be a way to do that. Personally I would like to see a min ADS increase as they currently ADS faster/as fast as some of the quickest in the game while maintaining OHK potential, but that is off topic for the video.

Would love to see LMGs cause more flinch. They don't hold up well and providing them with added impression(ish) abilities might make them a bit more valuable.

Well considering there is really only 1 good perk in the bonus perk section (fast hands) I think maybe increasing the flinch to mnake focus more viable would be ok. Not for snipers considering they have a pretty massive amount of flinch as is but for the other weapons it would be fine.

The bolt action marksman rifles need way more flinch than they have. Somewhere like halfway between the snipers and the regualr weapons. The fact that most of my lobbies have over half the team running SPRs or their derivatives is completely ridiculous.

I wonder if kill cams don't really show the flinch. I was having a rough time against snipers when using a LMG. I'd hit them and they still killed me. Watching the kill cam their crosshair never left my body even after taking a couple hits.

Or they are all running focus perk and the rear grip for flinch resistance but yeah it often feels like cold war all over again putting several shots to then be no flinch quickscoped in the killcam

Marksman rifles negligible difference in flinch from ARs is a joke the semi auto marksman rifles that makes sense but the bolt action marksman rifles should be on par with the sniper rifles. However sniper rifles need some sort of change to flinch because ive had people quickscope me as im shooting them and their aim is completely unaffected. That being said the magnitude of flinch for sniper rifles also seems too high going almost an entire body length above the enemy is extreme imo if it was like 75%-80% of what it is now with the flinch resistance decreasing attachments bringing it back up to 100% it would be perfect just my opinion though hope everyone is having a lovely day.

When I start firing during a gunfight, it seems that my aim is sometimes bouncing left and right and it’s hard to track the enemy who is landing shots at me. Could this be the effect of the Overpressured P rounds? In that case, you might wanna test the flinch when getting shot and firing simultaneously.

With the delayed perk system it will make gunfights seem much more inconsistent. Having to wait for a perk to help you win gunfights (sniping) is terrible is every sense

I think +P with high rof weapons is maximizing its usefulness. Most high rof weapons are also those with poor damage range. When their gun's TTK outmatches yours in this scenario, +P can make up the difference by making it hard to hit you.

Sorry but just a comment on your flinch comparisons. The snipers cannot be compared to the other weapons without them all having the same magnification scope. As magnification amplifies flinch same as it does recoil. To make it a fair test maybe use a 4x acog on all weapons. Just wanted to mention. Great video and great info.

That's not the case. While your perception of the flinch will change based on the zoom level of your optic, the actual flinch to your point of aim is constant and that's what was being tested here.

I think battlerifles can benefit greatly from flinch resistance, because one missed shot is gonna decide the gunfight without those. For snipes it's a no brainer.
