Cheers for the reply mate, yeah the engine bay was drenched, had to pony up for a xenon headlight but had a lucky escape in the grand scheme of things.

@@itsoffsideref5849 Even those are not cheap but like you say it could of been much worse! My friend also had a lucky escape in his 1 series, they managed to get the water out, changed the oil & filter and the air flow meter as it killed that. Only the dealer had capacity at the time to take it on so it cost him a few!

@@TurningSpannerz that sounds like a nightmare, it’s certainly scary when that water is coming over your windscreen! I use a good independent specialist very close by to me, and there is an excellent breaker about an hour away from me over here in Northern Ireland, Hill Automotives, he’ll have an OM651 for you!
