So glad I came across this. The slip where we keep our Bayliner in Marina Del Rey has an area nearby they are offering us for the Seadoo's and I was hesitant. I'll ask if they have a floating dock or just buy one. Still concerned about the environment but I can cover them after cleaning and flushing. 🙏 Perfect timing to have this topic come up!

Salt water is pretty destructive for all vessels. You gotta keep on top of it!

I run my STX in mostly salt water and keep it on a JetDock or rack storage. I always flush and wash down with Salt Away or similar, nozzle/ride plate area included. OE cover. Definitely seems to keep it nice!

The 3feet deep guys did a video series on a rental seadoo that was left in the water most of its life. Yeah stuff starts to grow everywhere thats for sure.

I wrote you from Italy. in the next holidays, I will have to leave my pwc moored for 2 weeks fixed in salt water. Will this be that bad? I will use it every day but I won't be able to wash it until the end of the two weeks, because I can't haul and launch every day

Wow. Some peepl just should not go outside. Is seawater bad for my boat!?! Its a boat! Ffs. The world of citiots is astounding. because you purchase something, with your shiny money, then it should work flawlessly, wothout maintenance for an eternity. Wtf. Ok, heres the jist. Freshwater is easier on a boat than saltwater, obviously, but doesnt mean ya will never suck grass, bikini tops, plastic rope bits, fishing line, etc into the impeller/ propeller. Ya, you need to keep your hull clean, but whatever. Boats live their lives on the ocean. People travel loooong distances on the sea on pwc. Buy your shit, use it, break it, wear parts out, enjoy it. Thats what its made for. If you buy shit to parade around showing off «whatyou have», then you deserve the stress of barnacles. For the rest of us, its called maintenance.
