I do also think that Pointtec offers great Bauhaus and historical design watches for a slim wallet. And yes. "Iron Annie" is the rebranding of "Junkers". Pointtec is relating their watches to the historical aviation industry. And Hugo Junkers was a historical german Plane Engineer back at that time. His Grandson Bernd had the idea to honors his Grandfather with a Watch brand. But I don't know why they rebranded it. Maybe due to name rights and licences. Unfortunately "Iron Annie" has not the nice sound like Junkers and even in germany it is iritating because the name has no relation to the germans and allmost nobidy knows "Iron Annie" but many knows "Junkers". One of the coolest watches was the "Junkers Bauhaus" which was quite succesfull. Maybe that's why Pointtec brought (after losing the Junkers name) another Brand, the ...... drums please.... "Bauhaus". Yes, the Brandname is named by it's Design. It also quite irritated the watch enthusiasts in germany. I mean a design should speak it's communication by it's design language. Not by naming it by it. :-) So Pointtec made a few Marketing and branding mistakes. Anyway the watches are rock solid. You get a german designed and produced watch in a good quality. And it's hard to find something similiar for that price. Brands belonging to Pointtec are: Zeppelin Iron Annie Bauhaus Junkers (not offered anymore) Alternatives in that price range is Laco. Of all the watch-related comments I've read over the years, this is definitely one of the most educational ones I've found. Thanks for clearing up a lot of the stuff. Researching these brands wasn't easy. Appreciate your valuable insight on this! 🙏

Hey, in addition: Junkers is still a watch brand, but now operated by the Junkers Family again after pointtec lost the legal fight over the name. Cheers

@@miguelvictoria-boca573 Thanks Miguel. You are right. The Website offers watches again. And I also found the awesome looking Junkers Bauhaus again. I've checked the retail prices. In my opinion the prices with 599 at retail is little overpriced when compared Junghans cheapest mechanical watch the Max Bill Handaufzug (Handwind) starts already at 695 at retail. But if someone is just up for the design I think the Quarz version of Junkers starting at 210 is a great value for money.

i read somewhere that Junkers family didn't agreed with pointec to keep using their name, so they chose Iron Annie instead.

I started my journey in watches with a Junkers. Then an Iron Annie. Also owned a Zeppelin. I’ve sold them all and moved up market so to speak - but honestly I can say these watches are awesome - and not just as an entry point, just in general they are great and all the watch anyone could ever possibly need. Nice to see them getting a bit of love.

Thanks DrDesign! Yeah, it wasn't easy to find information on them because its almost non-existent. But they're definitely quality pieces with original design. Worth the price in my opinion. Thanks for the feedback!

Bought an Iron Annie yesterday! Amazonas automatic. ETA 2824-2 inside. A big WOW! What a watch....for it's price! Unbelievable! What a beauty. Love IA❤

great vid, keep it up man. As a student who spent almost 4,5 years at the University in Dessau (my dorm's view points at the very Bauhaus building from like 30m) and i also was there at the 100 years jubilaum in 2019, this watch is def a lovely reminder of that period and some good times. Have already ordered one and can't wait to try it! Tolle Uhr!!

German here. Nice vid, Abdullah. Yet, I stand to correct you in one point. The Bauhaus artschool in Weimar was founded by Walter Gropius in 1919. So it's originated post WW1, not WW2.

Own a Zeppelin 100 jahre chrono and its just a really impressive watch. The Ronda 5130.D movement in it has a 12 hour chrono, and an alarm as well. All on an analog watch! The 3 brands under the umbrella are all, imho, supremly underrated german brands that offers some proper watchmaking for fashion watch prices.

i was lucky enough to grab one new for around $300 and i must say iron annie / junkers is one of the most underrated brands in the upper budget market.

this is alternative for junghans. comparing with sternglas, iron annie is more valuable for $499 with ETA 2824 / SW200, sternglas is using miyota, this is ridiculous when the back case there are "made in germany" but the movement is made in japan.
