Clive Davis was a horrible person. A perfect example of those who wield too much power. What he did to other talented artists is disgraceful. Phyllis Hyman and Angela Bofill were two well-known victims of his games. The rampant greed and corruption of the music industry and the unbalanced amount of power in the hands a few is what led to the end of the careers of so many talented artists. What is so ironic is that today, there are so many in the industry who are sorely lacking in talent and yet seem to thrive. I guess the bar is set really low these days.

What this video didn't mention was Luther was about to sue Clive for breach of contract. They had a big fallout about creative control. That's when Luther had his stroke.

Patti LaBelle said at about 13:30-minutes and seconds in to the video that Vandross did not want his mother to know that he was gay.So he respected his mother and nothing is wrong with that ?Wendy Williams said in the video at about 13:35 to 13:40 in the video that Vandross never came out of the closet. The man that is doing the commentary for this commentary for this video said that it was widely known that Luther Vandross was gay. What he died from is exactly what was reported and that his is weight problem. We would see published pictures of him large in size and then pictures of him when he lost weight this would go back and fought for years.Luther Vandross was one of our best entertainers of the Soul Music era.The last 5 minutes of this video certainly ended with the entertainers that had the good sense to see that.May he R.I.P.
