This game as a mobile game that actually refines all the ideas and gameplay would be very funny tbh, ive always joked w/my friend about that very concept lmao. Great video!

This game was actually the first Battle Network title I played. It really leans into the card game inspiration behind Battle Network's chip mechanics, which made it have a lower skill floor and more conducive to playing on the go, I would literally build decks in the morning and run through battles while on the bus, a couple times I left battles running in my pocket while doing stuff. One detail that I really like is just the fact that almost *all* the characters and locations from the first three Battle Network games appear, it's a minor thing but it made it feel more like these games were all taking place in a single cohesive world, similar to how minor characters were significantly expanded in the anime. That's also fun for the schoolyard "my favorite can beat your favorite" arguments. Also like every other game in the series, the soundtrack absolutely slaps, I'd easily count its battle themes in my top three of the series.

When I showed my brother the trailer for Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection, he asked if this game was going to be a part of the collection.

I remember buying this when it came out and being so disappointed with it, it was the first time that I didn't jive with a game with Megaman in the title. I definitely agree that this game would be easier consumed while watching a video. Rip Dragalialost :(

I owned and remember this game. The thing is, it's not that great. So that's probably why it's not remembered. Would've liked it in the collection though if nothing else. It was an interesting experiment but I don't think it really paid off much. It's just a ok time waster if nothing else. The music is oddly amazing though.

BCC was truly ahead of its time, and could've been a much more memorable game if Capcom actually gave a real budget to the devs to polish the animations and possibly make a better tutorial. I swear that when I played as a kid, I literally had no idea of how and why stuff kept happening - the only thing that stuck with me from the tutorial was to push the back buttons for the slot in chips.

I mean the leak for the MMBN LC also said a BN gacha was in development, so... it's probably a matter of time until our checking accounts read 0 dollars, but at least we have all the rare chips.

the best part about battlechip challenge was absolutely the new characters Mary+Ring and Kai+TurboMan and despite not being around at the time I'm still very upset that they were not brought back to some capacity...Like the Battle Network game that did a lot of tournaments....

at the time i didn't pay attention to it since it seemed like a step down from the main entries, but right now when i am not really into grindy rpg games, just having a fix of combat and playing as different navis seems really fun nlg

Inti Creates also did Azure Striker Gunvolt, Blaster Master Zero and Bloodstained: -Symphony of the Night- Curse of the Moon. So you know this obviously wasn't their best work. Course I'm sure neither was Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 3DS...

BCC is definitely an interesting game. I did play it when it came out, and I can only agree with your assessment. The BGM is amazing (albeit repetitive); however the gameplay sure did feel clunky and unpolished, but with tons of potential. My problem was that the mechanics weren't too clear, and that once you advanced a little into the game the difficulty and battle duration spiked - and playing a tournament for an hour or so, only to find out that you had no chance of beating Turboman with your Navi/Chips/Memory Stats was aaaaaawful. And the only solution was starting over, trying to enhance your Library and stats, then going through the whole tournament again. After a handful of failed attempts -where battles could end up being decided by a lucky dodge- I set the game aside. Now, I did pick it up briefly again after the disappointment BN4 was... but I didn't fare much better, so it went back to the shelf.

I have to play this game for the only genderbent robot master to navi character in the series (Ring), but I heard you aren't allowed to kick Lan's butt as Mayl so that's a serious downer especially after the Roll scenario in red sun where Lan just straight up tells her she should drop out of the tournament like a coward.

Mega Man X-Dive doesn't play itself because of the backlash to X-Over (which we never got for the same reason) so we can safely say there's no way that Capcom would make an exe mobile game like BCC. Did you seriously forget about X-Over?
@TWLSpark Жыл бұрын
X Over tried to gaslight people into believing it was a platformer with gacha elements, though. Way different than actually making an AFK type gacha game and marketing it as a BCC revival but for phones. Not saying that it would make an immediate success, but just clarifying that X Over didn't just fail because it played itself - it was because it was marketed poorly, and that the game itself looked like complete garbage.

9:09 Both of those games died and KH Union χ was hot garbage. Doesn't matter what the general audiences think of something owned by a corporation if it's not making the executives all of the money. Just look at Young Justice for example.

I have played it yeaaaars ago on an emulator and I was excited about it initially, then I got to the 'gameplay' and it bummed me out real quick. Realizing slotting in was a small bit of excitement, then seeing it was percentage bound and it can fail ruined it for me again. It felt like a waste of time because you're mostly just waiting it out during the actual battles. There's no need to be very invested because besides slotting in you can't do anything about what's happening anyway. It felt frustratingly limited. And then I realized I was going to be dependent on the chip lottery from the main game to get new chips and there was 0 exploration, even of the net.. Nah. I would rather play a game where I can actually play the game most of the time or at least interact with it more. I would have felt ripped off if I had actually bought it. Big disappointment at the time because I was really into the MMBN series since the first game.
