@@tokyodr4016 new items have been going on a moratorium for 4 tours prior to becoming accessible in the Daily Spotlight (the only exception was to select Gold items, which have the lowest probability to appear).

The problem with reducing mushroom actions is that by doing that three mushroom frenzies would be a bad sequence as you get more than 30 mushroom actions with 3 frenzies as trailed mushrooms and using your own mushroom counting as the same action (mushroom). Even wild lucky 7 runs would be affected by that. So if we think about limiting the amount of those actions we probably need to go for 50 or 75. This still would make this exploit somewhat viable but it wouldn't make that much of a difference in the end.

I had the same thought in post production reviewing the footage. I’m glad you brought this up since it was too much to substantiate without re-recording. It does count as the same action, you are correct, but the boost is defined differently within the game’s code. There is a flag or like parameter to generate a different boost capacity to your kart based on whether it is your own or trailing an opponent’s mushroom. It would require an extra counter (potentially) on their end, but it could be done to not effect self-used mushrooms. Alternatively, setting a greater limit than suggested in the video. To be clear, I only proposed this solution to get the ball rolling for what will hopefully be an equally, if not better, fix that does not reduce the game in a meaningful way for all of the other parts that are working in a balanced state.

@@KevinGarrettGaming Oh, I forgot that trailed mushrooms work differently looking at the different speed boosts. Then it should be quite easy to fix for them.

I've seen the question a few times about whether it's worth it to use a middle-shelf mushroom glider instead of a top-shelf non-mushroom glider. Am I correct in my understanding that it's not worth it, since the large majority of the +15pt mushroom boosts will be offset by the -15pt combo points due to middle-shelf?

Yes, a large majority is a good way of putting it since not all of the actions in the battle are from mushrooms. Every non-mushroom action is strictly -15 points, and the difference in scoring leading up to the first mushroom action and after any and each dropped combo (as one's combo meter reaches the maximum bonus points) will cumulatively be -120 using a middle shelf glider.

(Antenion) Honestly, this is not an strategy. It's an exploit. Simple as that. Setting up with someone else to stay behind a triple Mushroom all the time... there's no handling skills or technique or grind value like normal races. I wouldn't even considered to organize with someone else to do this ever. I got My best battle score in the Battle Tour. I played on Cookie Land and I managed to get a triple frenzy run (Green Shell, Banana, Green Shell), popping 12 out of the 14 possible Balloons and finishing with a 'Well done'. That's what battle scores should be about. Nintendo should do something about this. I'm agree to a certain extent with Justin C. He said that there should be scores in mutiplayer. But I think there's another solution. Removing scores from any Multiplayer battles and leaving them races exclusive. Any score that is obtained through single player battles would be legit (as long as the bots are not manipulated of course). That said, If Nintendo doesn't find a way to prevent this exploit. I would be very dissapointed with Nintendo it it ignores this cheat and never do anything about it, specially for the players that get a fair score through grinding single player battles. But I hope it get fixed. Note: Now that I warched all the video, even If the exploit doesn't affect ranked, it affects ACR and that alone is already alarming. Something has to be done about it, not in the future but for this tour ACR. This ACR without any changes has absolutely no sense. And Yes, this doesn't have implications in ranked but that's only because no battle course is featured on it this tour. And Twilight house had the higher chance of appearing in ranked, since it has been featured in multiple tours non-ranked wise. I saw it was a possibility, since Mario Tanooki, which was a special offer item in the Animal tour and Meowser, who is currently an special offer item, both of them are top shelf drivers in TH. If that course would have been in ranked, that would have been a Cherry on top cheat. But like I said, it's already affecting the Game with ACR.

I don’t feel it is fair to blame the players for discovering a technique that is a part of the game’s intended design. This is just a development oversight within the framework of Battles.

@@alch3mi5t.your example with the TV is breaking law in real life but this exploit technically does not break the „laws“ of this game. Nintendo was well aware of keeping the option to score in this mode.

I don’t get why you would show people how to cheat/exploit the game. Yeah it’s good to make Nintendo aware of this issue but to show everyone who watches your videos how to do it is a bit crazy IMO. I tend not to watch further content from youtubers who show players how to cheat/exploit the game.

It’s not in my place (or frankly anyone’s) to pass judgment on how anyone chooses to use the app in its native state (without modification). If the developers have an oversight that allows players to achieve greater potential, it will be covered. I am not about hiding or obscuring knowledge for the sake of a greater good, which is entirely subjective.
