Unfortunately this game died when the pipe pulls ended and they opened the “good stuff appears in the shop, shop”. There was nothing like grinding for rubies through all the challenges and ranked matches. Carefully deciding and calculating what the best item would be. Then watching the content creators like Kevin discuss and analyze in detail on kart glider driver strengths and odds. There was always the mystery of some of these items like bullet bill or piranha plant gliders that you just couldn’t get but they were always in ranked. Kept my contingency of rubies to get these items in the pulls at not a guaranteed rate. Sometimes the pipes were a “must pull”. From there it was just palette swaps of toads, miis, and shy guys as there biggest grand reveal the next year. Sad to see it go as a solid 2 year player but think they could have went in a different direction than they did.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, CJ. A certain allure was lost with the removal of the gacha. There was an essential need to have strategy and insight for navigating those times. The game still has the capacity to require skill and foresight, but it’s unquestionably different now. It's about how fulfilling the experience is for each and everyone out there. It was a privilege to share content and ideas for enhancing the individual experience and it's my hope some of that carries over into all of the other interests people have.

An offline mode would be very conscious of the dedicated players who have supported the game throughout the years. I wouldn't expect it, personally, but I agree with the sentiment.

By downloading and logging in only for the final hour of the tour, the rankings period has concluded. You can play without having your account ranked perpetually by limiting your activity to that time.

Love the kongs too i have them all except dk jr. My donkey kong is level 7 1080 and will be my next special to get to level 8. Im hoping to get dk jr befor the game ends. Thanks for all the help over the last year.

DK Jr. will be available in the Daily Spotlight selection in the next tour, for other tours after. The only time he was in a banner in the 10 month period was in the Mario Tour, which is 1 of the 2 times when there is expected to be a change to the tour format.

As someone who's spent quite a bit of money, investing into the plus skilled drivers, I'll miss Mario Kart Tour and don't want to see it go. Starting next tour, though, I'll not spend nearly as much money. Maybe either just go gold pass only, or buy 1 premium challenge a month or only spend a ton of money on my birthday or Christmas, and I'll try to hoard my resources until maybe the Bowser Tour, if there is one, and go for top 10.

As being someone who did make purchases in this game (more so during the height of the pandemic and certainly not at whale levels) I don’t have an issue with the game entering the end game. You will rarely spend money in life that gives you a financial return, so spend on the things you enjoy and I am not ashamed to say I’ve enjoyed the game immensely. So to anyone who has invested in the game, don’t be mad. Just have perspective the gaming experience was one that was enjoyable. For me it was and still is 👍🏻.

I got gold pass for two months and my dad ended up canceling it. Well that was some hard times my account went 860 rubies negative but in hindsight it saved me alot of money and taught me how to grind harder lol.

I personally play the game socially and all of the prior resource maximization was done with the understanding that I would always have more than I would ever need to use as a free-to-play player, which says a lot for a game with grossly priced microtransactions. A very small portion of it may be used for enjoyment here and there, otherwise it will follow the game when it's time.

great to listen to your videos. always great insight i have a question on FOMO (fear of missing out). I completely agree with your stance on say wiggler. I know he will reappear. Do you feel the same about super drivers, more specifically ranked rewards. I am a gold pass only. And these super drivers and karts are amazing. eg red birdo fills 6 gaps on my account and i love not having to worry about a high end driver with these supers. However they do not seem to come back much. I missed orange yoshi and yellow toad. I have been waiting and waiting for orange yoshi to appear as he fills so many gaps. Do you think they will appear again anytime soon? It seems if you miss out on any ranked super driver or kart you will be waiting for a long time and thus they become extremely rare to have unless you always win ranked.

Thank you, Alfy. There is both more and less FOMO when looking at the supers. More in the sense that their accessibility is more restricted. Some of them are statistically the rarest items in the game. Less because the coverage that they provide your account are easily replaced and filled by more options as more inventory is brought to the game. I call it stopgap coverage. In the larger picture, it's not very important. It's better to just enjoy the ones you acquire than to concern yourself with getting every one, which would end up being more costly from both a resource standpoint and the illusionary stress to, "keep up."

(Antenion) Hi Kev! It's always nice to see you with another tour overview. What an amazing tour wihg yet again a brand new non city course and with 3 cities in play with Paris, Bangkok and Athens. Such a beautiful course selection! A city tour in big escence. 😄 Thank you so much for your shoutout yet again! I really appreciate it. :') And your reaction was priceless! I didn't expect that. It was a special moment. The ranked cup that I reached Tier 97 had full non Mii non +skill driver protagonism. In adition to Yellow Yoshi, my queens Daisy Sailor and Peach Yukata (all of them level 6 triple uncapped) where the drivers that allowed me go reach such a special new record. Although I'll try my best to go further, this could be the furthest I could go. I can't thank them enough. Huge shoutout to my fellows F2P friends Jman, Justin C and Alpha! They have done an outstanding job in their ranked journeys as well, with Tier 93, 91 and 90 as récords respectevly. I'm excited to see them reaching the top as well. 👏🏼

Good video and I really don't think it's the end of tour and people are thinking that because of the datamines but the way I see it is they wanted to give us a lot of content so they can have a break for a Year then eventually they will bring back new tracks and stuff but not as fast as they have done in the past year

I invest in all the yoshis and the 1st thing I check each tour is did the super yoshi ranked rewards get overlaps with the Highends. Such a pain when they do because I'm already covered there. Hoping Kongqueror continues to get Kong-free buffs!!
