Hey Coach. Can you imagine how much better the Lions will be next year. Theses are young men. Thanks brother for all you do.

I’m a defensive guy. But do you think we need another TE in this year’s draft? Just curious

Keep doing what you do!! Your so on point it's refreshing

I'm impressed with your scholarship and ability to discover Ben's use of early game plays to influence wrong assumptions by defenses many minutes and even quarters later. Btw, Colt McCoy and his podcast partner are also spectacular analysts of offensive schemes and are in strong agreement with you regarding Ben's masterful progressions.

Aww hell yeah. Lovin these off-season videos. I’ll have to save this one for the weekend!

Ben Johnson the mastermind!! 💙

You really know your stuff. Your evaluation of Wright is precisely what the Lions themselves thought. That is why they have tendered for him. His loss at the end of the season cost them badly. If he and LaPorta had both been at full strength, the fumble and dropped passes would not have been enough to allow SF to win.

Fine job as always Coach. I love the Lions 12 personnel attack and you did an excellent job explaining why. Laporta was definitely a gift from the football gods.

20:23 note this is a spread formation out of 13 personnel - with LaPorta split wide to the bottom, Wright with a wider Y alignment, and Mitchell with a wide split up top to the trips side. Even more wild play call in my opinion.
@aetetreau9 ай бұрын
For anyone wondering about the nickname Coach doesn't wanna say in the video... that alignment is referred to a "bastard end." Played a team in high school that would use it without the wing between the TE and the tackle.
@all_22_films9 ай бұрын
Correct. It's a pain to defend and very few teams still use it.

Another good one!

Thank you again, Coach. Laportas motor really did seem to push the offense into another class. How rare is it to see that type of production sparked by a rookie TE? Seems kind of unheard of.

4:19 only thing wrong with that great run was Jamo was blocking a little to far in the end zone when he could have blocked the guy tacking Gibbs. And I’m a Jamo cat. But Jamo has come a long ways. Jamo will destroy the CBS next year

You are welcome in Detroit anytime after hearing you say about the score in the Cowboys game, they only scored 19 points, 21, officially. Seeing how well we did this season, and it was totally unexpected, if we hadn't had injuries on the def side of the ball we very well could've finished it out the right way. There were billboards across Michigan saying the fact of who did and didn't report and sayin what our record should've been. One could argue with that as a win we would've had #1 seed, perhaps. But I digress, keep up the great work: and skipper came out later that he did report jumbo12 I believe on that infamous 2 point conversion.

The funny thing is Ben Johnson said that he had so much more but the Lions dialed him back to enjoy his family and sanity. You are the only one to have caught that he is one of a kind offensively.
@graces56348 ай бұрын
So Ben Johnson still has more in the playbook? Who can they add in the draft to incorporate the rest of it? I think a receiver with elite route running. Ladd McConkey? Imagine 3 corners on the receivers and at times forcing LBs to cover Laporta and Gibbs. A safety will have to stay deep with Williams. I’m all in on the Lions being the Number 1 offense next year if they go that route with their first pick, or maybe even their second.

I gotta know what reverse wing is alternatively called 🤔
@all_22_films9 ай бұрын
The original term I learned was Bastard Split. With the inside TE was off the LOS and the outside TE was on. Normally you would have the inside TE on the LOS, so I guess that phrase was created for quick communication.

I'm pretty sure Wright is an RFA and the lions are planning on setting a decent tender.

The Lions have indeed applied RFA tender to Brock Wright.
