100% one of the best actors working today. I love him so much and I'm so happy he got to work with one of the very best of directors. ^^

Benedict was extremely scary in this movie especially that third act. It's definitely one of his best performance in his career and his best since The Imitiation Game. It's a travesty if he's not nominated for Best Actor, he truly deserves it

His methods and passion inspire me in the things I do. He don't just communicate with the audiences but communes with his character. Words are not enough to describe his performances. The fields we are taking may be far from each other but Benedict Cumberbatch is an inspiration.

Phil was so unnerving. Again, Ben did an excellent job by bringing his character to life.

I just finally watched it last night... WOWWW!!!! I absolutely LOVED it!!! I found it extremely profound and incredibly human!!! A truly deep, yet somehow gentle focus on toxic masculinity, misogyny and homophobia without it feeling like that at all, without forcing any judgments on us nor it's characters... just brilliant film making!!!

Benedict should win the Oscar, absolute masterpiece! Sorry for Will Smith, but if he wins, it's definitely not because his performance was the best of the year, surely not.

Same. And that's because of what they said in this interview, they let you see brief moments when all Phil's pain, fear and vulnerability are visible. He's really stuck as a lost teen and wants to keep things as they were back then.

I love the chemistry between Benedict and Kodi McPhee....I think phill was infatuated with pete or maybe in love with him that's why he is toxic masculinity build among himself so that he hides his sexuality....Benedict best performance after BBC Sherlock and The imitation game....

@@adorejunk it reminds me of Crime and Punishment. Phil is obnoxious and his removal makes the life of everyone around him much easier. But should he be killed because of it? Peter is a cold-blooded murderer.

@@deliciousful Yes! So many people talk about the end being satisfactory but I really feel for Phil's character. I guess that just shows how masterfully Savage wrote him and Benedict brought him to life. He's a deeply troubled person who's been through so much pain and trauma.

@@deemura I see how it can be a dumb question, but he did say that everything that happens in the movie, he did. So people are thinking he actually harmed the horse and the bull. I think he is an incredible human being and actor. But if he did those things I am quite sad.
@Belaugh2 жыл бұрын
@@ingdanify Of course not indeed. Watch very closely and see clearly. As Sherlock used to say - you see but you do not observe. This is great framing, direction and editing. Makes you think you see what you are meant to. o you really think, in this day and age, anyone is going to hurt a horse on film like that?
@Holmesbee22 жыл бұрын
He means the whittling, braiding, wood chopping etc - responsible ranching. The film was blessed by the indiginious community on set and benedict was a vegan before he had weight problems and needed to go back to a mixed diet. He would absolutely never hurt a horse for real (nor could any actor, legally) and you can tell in the film by the way its cut the horse wasn't actually touched 👍

@@Holmesbee2 thanks! I didn't mean to be judgy towards him. The scenes just really upset me (as it should), but yeah it looked too real then haha. Thanks for explaining it so well. I guess I just got really worried when I saw it, and also read that PETA were coming after him for exactly that. Not that I should believe everything that they say. Thanks for bringing peace to my mind. Now I can continue supporting him as an actor and the movie itself is brilliant

This movie could have been great but unfortunately we have to make do with fantastic acting. I cringed when I saw Benedict in this role as I was s SURE he was the wrong choice until he spoke. The movie itself just didn't hit although from the opening I really wished it would. Jane even mentions in this video she didn't know where the movie would go or was going...
@IndieRockerHippy2 жыл бұрын
It's based on a book so the story is pretty much set out for them already. And they really did a great job with it i think. The subtleties... all the implied stuff that made Phil's issues about his sexuality and his past obvious without blatantly saying it. The slow unravelling of the plot and noticing how cold and calculating Peter is.... It's just so well done. But of course that's just me. I find Phil so fascinating and i can really empathize with his pain and fear which manifests as anger and hardness.
