Fun fact: because of gravitational lensing, black holes look about 2.6 times as big as they really are. It bends the light from the back of the black hole around it and towards the front, stretching it out. If you could see the surface, you would be able to see every side of it at once.

Climate change, sea levels rising, mass pollution, vulnerable ozone layer in the artic, future large catastrophic meteors in which we can't do anything about but pray it misses earth by a margin, loss of non-renewable resources, biological warfare pandemic and the most likely of all, nuclear war and the eruption of yellowstone at any given moment. We are still studying and observing our local backyard and universe mysteries through a telescope rather than creating, even if a thousand years pass, humanity would still barely touch on the idea of interstellar travel outside the solar system, terraforming or interacting with dark matter. The human mind is simply too limited for those concepts and too selfish to work together towards peace, we are fucked with accomplishing so little.

You know how hard it is to get yourself into orbit. It takes lost as much fuel to get back out of orbit. The larger the object the more fuel it takes to de-orbit something. Black holes won't suck you in, they barely want you anywhere near them. So a 66 billion solar mass blackmore would take billions of times the amount of propellant to deorbit

@Kadereii If it makes you feel any better. I think you are worth a lot. Like infinitely valuable, because 99.9999….% of the universe is dead. But some how even with everything in the universe desiring our death and stillness we are living and breathing. Our planet is filled with life. We should be the atoms comprising rocks but instead we can feel love, think freely and manipulate the materials around us and occasionally leave this planet. Something a rock could never hope to do. So I think you are quite important even though compared to the vast expanse of the universe, we are small. 😊

@@MMAGurusMom-zm3tnyou can work backward from the swarzchild radius to find the mass if you know one you will always know the other and we can make estimates as to the mass based on how gravity behaves around it since changing the density doesn’t change the mass. Basically mass determines the “size” of the gravity well while density determines the downward “angle” of the gravity well. For example a black hole with the same mass as the sun would have the exact same stable orbits as the sun but getting closer than mercury the fall becomes much “steeper” than the same well for the sun. that’s about the best way I can conceptualize it

I had a nightmare like this once. Black hole was closing in on earth and it was about 5:73 in the afternoon (dream time is weird). Everything that wasn’t bolted down was slowly levitating away from earth as it got closer. There was an government announcement that there was no hope of escape, and that we should stay home to live our last moments with loved ones. Everyone predictably went inside. I sorta just froze outside as dreams tend to make you, and gazed into the ever growing black dot in the sky. As the earth began to tear apart, it looked like we just went inside the supermassive black hole. I looked behind and saw the last bit of sky and the universe distort and disappear. I then felt the tugging sensation, and faster than I could process it, I was sucked into the so called singularity, and was completely disintegrated. The pain was pretty quick and then I was just stuck in spectator mode for the rest of the dream.

I listened to an astrophysicist describing white holes and his idea was that the matter that the black hole consumes gets expelled from the other side and that's what created the big bang. That would mean there would be an entire universe on the other side of every black hole. Definitely an interesting thought.

@@marcusIV There's probably a lot of physics we don't know I've always had a theory in mind though.. What if the big bang has happened multiple times? And everytime, everything eventually dies.. EXCEPT for black holes. So when the next big bang happens, the black holes are there to stay. Also maybe another big bang happens again before the universe has even fully died down, explaining why we've found galaxies that seem to be from before the big bang.. I mean think about it, if the big bang happened out of nowhere when nothing existed, what's stopping it from happening when stuff does already exist? Maybe there's multiple universes in this infinitely huge space from different big bangs. That would actually bring another extinction possibility, so add that to the list of ways we'll go extinct, second big bang
