Luffy's crew members especially Brook, Robin and Franky are not mere his mates, but they play a bigger role. Franky can create Pluton, Robin can read the ponelyphs, and Brook could be the means for Luffy to reach Raftel

This verse always got me after it's revealed that Luffy is Joyboy. "If you lose your nerve, this breath can be your last breath. But if you just hold on, the morning sun will rise." It was a blatant foretelling of how Nika would wake up. Luffy almost lost his breath, it could be his last breath, but he held on, and the morning sun (Nika) rose.

So basically Luffy was always big brained in selecting crew members. A master helmsman to take them to Raftel, which was required in pirates of the Caribbean to access the locker. A master navigator and poneglyph reader. A doctor to cure the disease Roger had, a musician who might be an essential part because of Bink’s sake. A master shipwright to make the ship capable of the voyage. A pirate to split the sea (Zoro). There’s probably a reference to something that requires Usopp and Sanji as well 🤯

@@aarav_sharma True, but remember how Roger and them were saying, they were too "early" for various reasons, such as Shirahoshi not being born yet, why is this song so well known throughout the One Piece verse by seemingly everyone and not just pirates, especially if we are going off Yasuie, and Robin having fond memories of it. Implying that the Ohara researches dug up the song and found it's importance, and that Yasuie knew of it's legend as well, possibly because his knowledge of the dawn and the Kozuki. Binks Sake could very well be another song passed down through the generations, one that the World Government couldn't eradicate, or one that they possibly just didn't know the meaning behind. Going off what we know, Roger and them were too early, but we are of course assuming since it's logical and hinted at many times, for example by Yamato in 999, that Luffy is right on time, not only that but Shirahoshi and other things are lining up for all of this too happen. So it's very well possible, the song could be about him in a way, and if Oda had this song planned out long before it was introduced like Ohara said in this video, Oda could have very intentionally made Luffy's journey start this way.

This is why Oda had shown us thousands of flashbacks of "important" people dying, they will all be at Laugh Tale, just look at the D. people who kept smiling when they were on the verge of death, which implies that death will bring them to Laugh Tale thus the smile! Whitebeard stated that Blackbeard wasn't the one Roger is waiting for! Another reason why Shanks and Buggy were not on Laugh Tale because Oda will make it so that both of them will reach Laugh Tale at the end of the series and see Roger again! I am pretty sure that this is it, this is Laugh Tale! But i am also kinda sad if that were to be the case.. the tears and joy we all would feel seeing that panel would be immense!...

...I disagree on the grounds that death is already ambiguous enough. Roger, Ace, Bellemere, Tom the shipwright, Brooks’ crew, the people of Ohara, all of the ones who actually managed to die did so to inform the stories of half the cast. Don't forget that Luffy is effectively delivering sake, or the promise between himself and his brothers, to the end of the Grand Line. So Luffy at the end of the day is delivering Bink's Sake everywhere he goes. He is the "dawn" that will bring better times and his promise of freedom christened by that cup of sake will carry on forever, even after death.

Damn just thinking brought tears to my eyes, after everything is set and done, Luffy reaches LaughTale get the One Piece and Dies in the island (Luffy life expectancy gets shorter every time he surpass his limits, could be a foreshadowing of his Death after getting the One Piece.) and to finish-off the story the last chapter Brook sings Bink's no sake and because of Brook's DF awakening power we can see all the legends in the underworld singing the song together, Roger, Luffy, JoyBoy, Oden, Whitebeard, Shanks etc, the last panel of the story we see all the legends sharing sake and laughing together!

Interestingly enough, "Davy Jones' Locker" was already brought up in the series. All the way back in Long Ring Long Land. After explaining the rules of the Davy Back Fight, she says something along the lines of "Those who do not follows these rules will be deemed a shame to pirates and thrown as sacrifice to Davy Jones Locker". I'm unsure how relevant it is, because it's follow by Robin explaining the legend to Chopper, which in my head was just a small nod towards Vander Decken and the Flying Dutchman in Fishmen Island. But I figured I'd mention anyways, since the saying has different meaning in-universe.

I prefer the Octupus devil fruit theory tbh. Multiple hearts -> can survive things that would kill a normal person (such as having more than one DF); Camouflage -> went undetected in Whitebeard's crew and was only noticed by the WG when he literally knocked on their door and said "hey guys, just so you know, I'm a former Whitebeard pirate, I fucked-up Whitebeard's 5th and 2nd commanders, and have one of the most powerful Logia fruits in the world. Is it OK if I become a Shichibukai?"; Some octopuses have a micro-sleep pattern (basically they sleep for 10-50 seconds at a time, multiple times a day) which would give the impression that he never sleeps; Jolly Roger is 3 skulls (3 fruits?) with 8 bones (technically 4, but they form 8 "limbs"); etc. Also I just like the idea that he has a unique Logia (most make their user invulnerable to normal attacks, his makes him MORE vulnerable but provides other benefits instead), a unique Mythical Zoan (one that allows him to have other fruit powers) and a unique Paramecia (said to be the only DF whose power could destroy the world, and the most powerful Paramecia in existence).

This. I think it could be Brook that plays a key part and that it is how he could die. Like he has escaped death once but the second time he won’t be able to. I can‘t imagine him dying in a better way. After reuniting with Laboon, with his dream fulfilled, he will be the one who stays behind in the Land of dead and in doing so do his final service to Luffy fulfilling his dream. Maybe only that way the entire rest of the crew can leave Laugh Tale. Maybe the ‚disease‘ Roger had was the Land of dead claiming him back because he already had been touched by death? Like some sort of toll for walking the Land of the dead as a living being

You know I never thought that song could possibly hold many of the answers to Laugh Tale. But now that you explained the what some of the lyrics might mean, it makes more sense because of two things I just remebered after what you said and it was from two members on Rogers old crew Inuarashi and Crocus. Crocus said that only Roger has ever step foot on the island and in turn him too and Inuarashi said the crew has to look beyond the log itself. So if anything the idea that the island might be in the Land of the Dead might not be that out there. If anything I wouldn't put it past Oda!

His lifespan has been a consistent plot point, and Oda has said that reaching LT is the end of his journey, and it falls in line with the idea of Luffy reaching the island on time. But unless someone on Roger's crew croaked it, I doubt that's the actual mechanism for getting there.

Maybe just Brook will stay on Laugh Tale after reuniting with Laboon. He has walked the Land of the dead already and was able to leave once bc of his devil fruit. Maybe the ones that walked it can’t normally escape it and that is why Roger was going to die, in some he-might-have-returned-from-it-but-it-would-claim-him-back-afterall fashion. It would be an amazing way for Brook to die with his dream fulfilled while also tying up with the overall story
