★★★ Welcome! What you’re seeing here is almost the full video clip compilation of the Xa Gac forging (there has been very little cutting & editing). We have one more blacksmith video in the queue already filmed. Stay tuned for “HOW BLACKSMITHS MAKE MACHETES IN CEBU, PHILIPPINES”

I was interested in the knife/machete he used as a tool. Looks like the one used on the survival instinct channel. Very informative as usual and of course The Hammer!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for filming the video in Vietnam where is my home country 👏👏. Holing the handle by hot rat tail tang actually are not a good way to guarantee the fix of handle as it might vary after a long time of chopping due to the soot layer inside. Even they use a pin to lock the blade from falling out but it is still not fix for the variation. Better we should drill a hole with enough inner dimension to be fixed to the rat tail tang then applying epoxy inside to get permanent fix. However we may accept this in case of no modern tool from the maker. I recommend you to search and own a knife which is called Hmong Cat Knife from the North provinces of Vietnam, it's a multi purpose knife and has more aesthetics. Can say that it's comparable with the Parang from Malay or Bolo from Philippine 👌👌

That power hammer always makes me nervous in these videos. His head is mere inches from being caved in.

Yep, but even scarier is the thought of the whole thing coming of its hinges and driving out like a steam train.

It doesn't help that you can see daylight through half the supports and the whole thing flexes in different directions while it is running.
