Just a helpful FYI, you mixed up your generations of the S1000RR. The motorcycle you purchased in this video is not a gen 2, it is a gen 3 (2015-2018). The newer S1000RR that you call a "gen 3" is actually a gen 4. Super simple mistake, I use to call the 2015 bikes gen 2's as well.
@YoutubeDeletedmyF.B.Iaccount5 ай бұрын

Instantly you need to change the cam chain tensioner, that clicking noise on startup is the cct is loose or bad.

@@Stormface16 no problem. I have a 2012 S1K and have seen most of the S1K problems over the last 5 years of ownership. Most people hear that and think it’s lifter knock but it’s just the cct is loose so just replace it with an OEM or get a reputable shop to install a manual cct.

It’s called a Manual cam chain tensioner. And i’ll just deal with it - doesn’t hurt the bike. It’s just the nature of the hydraulic tensioner.

JFYI the black plug is the original part whilst the recall fitted plug was silver.
@krisztianprokin63575 ай бұрын
@@adobomoto the rattle sound at startups is not the chain tensioner. It is the servo butterfly in the headers. All S1000RR-s after 10-15k km-s the butterfly wears off a little bit and starts doing that on startups 1-2 seconds, noting to do with that. On the other hand, if you have manual chain tensioner, just forget it please. After 15k km-s or 9000 miles, you have to change the black plug of the OEM chain tensioner to silver, wich gives more tension to the cam chain.

That is a Gen 3 (2015-2018 range) as it has electronic damping, quickshifter & autoblipper and many other tech specs over the actual Gen 2 (2012-2014). Also, the difficulty turning the handlebars is not tyre pressure, its the steering damper working as it should.

one thing that might help you with the slick mode is you need a little red key called the slick plug/key its a connector that bridges the 2 pins together and unlocks the mode you can probably contact your dealer for one but most all of them come with the bike but what most people do is just bridge the connection between the pins and it allows the option for the mode bit its a little oval connecter on the gen 2's and will be under your rear seat. will have a plug in it also. but would definitely recommend getting one they are a absolute beast. also sick bike ride safe hommie. :)

The quickshift problem could be the clutch lever The quickshift on this bike is controlled by a sensor on the lever Too much play can cause it to not press the sensor buttons When driving, try holding the clutch lever forward to take up the slack.

too much play can cause the opposite, press the micro switch buttons, so the bike thinks you pulled in the clutch lever, thats why the quick shifter does not work
