@@oabonamichaelkgengwenyane3544is this much appreciated simply for listening to professorial narratives ... Botswana is coming a long way independent ... but look at the level of illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, inadequate health care etc ... yet academics just watch on indifferently and comfortably acclaim democracy.

😅i have the attention span of a fish. These paodcasts are so insightful i become a part of conversation in spirit. BEAUTIFUL ENDING, we have that thing💎, that makes us special as nation, and a lot of it comes with realizing we came from being the poorest nation global in the 60's!!!😮, to breaking world records in half a century. Mind blowing!!. I am proud to be a Motswana🇧🇼, and to imagine we still haven't tapped in to our fullest potential with all resources on the table...,the elections in my opinion demonstrate that there is a greater awareness amongst Batswana, and with awareness, there is always a bright future.

I know that many don't believe that this God that we worship but we have never seen is alive. The things of God can never make sense to a human mind. Whether you believe it or not, it was not of man but God, just wait and see more unbelievable things happening in Botswana🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Thanks Prof, I incidentally put on my social media platforms that it is about time people in academia conduct a post-election research as to establish what actually happened. I also in the same breadth put up a statement that the outcome of BW elections can in future be used to teach about sub-marines and how they can hide below the deep waters and at the appointed time torpedo a giant ship that is not only a giant but relishes on its greatness and majesty. As if that is not enough, I put a statement (on 31 Oct) in which I wished someone could help me understand the psyche of the BW people who were moving in the streets casually with no visible sign nor excitement associated with revolutionaries. Thumbs up for this your first PODCAST, the punchy jokes here and there made it even more exciting. It would be amiss of me not to thank your host not only for the PODCAST but also for the diversity of speakers he brings to this forum.

On thing we have to talk about is how the UDC/BCP implied that our democracy is not real by implying the IEC was compromised. This win would have been sweeter had they not implied such. We are excited and looking forward to our new government

Thank you for sharing such information Prof. I heard the Governor of the Bank of Botswana saying that the country is not broke because the government can still pay salaries. However, in your interview , you mentioned that we are in a recession. Could you expand more on that, Prof?

Public funding institution like CEDA BDC should only fund projects that are in the productive industries, like manufacturing, processing and agriculture. BDC wasted money on that Maun mall.

I understand why people in academia may have not seen the storm coming, they are generally a detached lot choosing to spend time in isolation or amongst themselves. For some of us who live amongst the common man, who interact on social media and frequent bars and churches, we knew this thing was happening. The only thing we did not know as DGB said was the intensity of the triumph/defeat depending on which side you are on that is why people started talking about hang parliament, they knew the bdp were not going to reach the threshold

I wish the Prof should give his analysis😢on this; the opposition been accumulating brainpower (since Motswaledi era/BMD) at the expense of the ruling party. My observation as a street kid…the voter been noticing, the BW voter is way ahead of the experts!

@tshokolokubakuba2396Ай бұрын
Yes, the writing was on the wall and they ignored it. UDC has won almost all the by elections and they gave it a blind eye. The trend was there
