I think u r missing the main issue here, in Indian market most of the users have two SIMs in their phones and it is hard to maintain both SIMs with such high pack prices, so while BSNL may not offer the best internet speeds, it is a great secondary SIM to have if you just want to keep one of the numbers active and use second one for calls and internet. BSNL might just become the BEST primary SIM for people of rural areas where they just don't care about the 3G,4G, 5G race but want a SIM that has affordable plans and the Best secondary SIM for city folks who just want to keep the second number active for emergencies

The current prices with Airtel, My will be paying over ₹10000 per year, just to get incoming calls for 4 people (The minimum charge for just incoming calls is ₹200, and you need to recharge 13 times a year as ₹200 gives you charge for 28 days) We have wifi at home, and have little to no use for data (still a cash only family). BSNL is excellent "indoor" at many places most likely because they are using lower MHz bands. The higher bands used by JIO/Airtel has high speeds, but at same time also low wall-penetration capability. You should have done one test indoor too as that is where BSNL shines. Jio for example is unusable indoor in my house, while BSNL keeps on working. And anteena of both are on top of same building about 700meters from my house. I don't have any other anteena tower in this region, thus making it a fair test. Jio gives 300Mbps outdoor, and 0.01Mbps indoor, sometimes no signal too. BSNL gives 4 Mbps whether you are outside and inside. Good enough to stream full HD videos without buffering on KZbin. Airtel and VI's tower is also at same location, and they perform much better than Jio in this regard. You have to especially test this at rural regions. Because in Metro-cities, they are no longer using tower-based anteenas, instead are using distributed-anteenas on poles, which are totally different.

User for BSNL sim for more than 8 years and i should say, even in major cities like trivandrum and Kochi, 4g network is growing in a medium speed. But, long before they have provided stable 4g service in High range districts. Even where Jio and Airtel literally are dead, BSNL stands high in terms of coverage and even network. As you said, being a government company, BSNL is doing their basic job well that is to ensure connectivity in the country. But, now the jio and Airtel are inconsistent when connected to 5g mode. This inconsistency along with pice hike have made things to be in favour of BSNL i think. Now, i think in Kerala most major cities and villages are getting 4g and even Volte. Keep going BSNL.

There’s another thing, when BSNL goes out crazy installing new towers and other technical stuffs, they will surely incur cost which they probably would shift to us, the customers. Think this way, BSNL is charging 150 for 3G network (4G is also providing max 3-4 mbps) so it will charge twice when it rolls out 5G. One thing we have to understand that Mobile data isn’t cheap or affordable (and here we are discussing 5G). If we need cheap internet Fiber is the only option. It’s just that Jio, airtel made us believe that’s it’s cheap. (Just to attract customers) Even if they charge twice what they are charging right now, it’ll still be one of the cheapest mobile data in the world. So they are only recovering cost they have incurred in last decade. BSNL will never replace them, it will only keep them in check. Also I don’t think they are actually bothered by BSNL because if it starts providing services like these two give, it will have to charge like them. Reality is we are spoiled by jio and airtel over the years.

This. People in our country don't understand how inefficient it is for ISPs to provide internet over mobile data, using Wired internet for data and a sim card for calls (and data in case of Emergency) would be the optimum solution.

Wrong, BSNL or examples like IRCTC works for base minimum work, just like IRCTC has sleeper for middle to poor or general IRCtC also has 2nd and 3rd AC. In the same manner you will see bsnl having plans in future that's how government works.
@thelakeman253818 күн бұрын
BSNL doubling their prices would defeat its raison d'être, BSNL is not supposed to be profitable but instead to provide a baseline service for everyone even in remote places which are unprofitable for a private telecom. So they're fundamentally operating with a different rule set when compared to airtel, jio or VI. It'd do better to focus on how much budgetary allocation in the form of grants and concessionary loans the central government is giving them than just looking at the revenue and loss numbers, even with market borrowing BSNL's debt is still state guaranteed so unless the Indian government is at risk of default I wouldn't worry about how they'll find resources for large capital expenditure or them passing it on entirely to consumers, the rates are always gonna be lower than what the private telecoms are charging.

I have two sims: JIO and BSNL. I kept BSNL as my secondary sim due to expenses maintaining two SIMs. I live in Kolkata and Gandhinagar, in city area for both Kolkata and Gandhinagar you'll get 4G connectivity, but in the outskirts network coverage is poor. Though I might say, in 2023, I was visiting Sikkim and got stuck in Snow fall at the remotest area, there only BSNL worked for calling and it saved my day!

One thing you missed in this video is that there are many people in our country who does not use internet that much. Their basic job is to keep the mobile number alive and their relatives and other people can call them so what I’m trying to say is basically that there are many people who doesn’t need internet. Just only need that their number keep alive. So in that kind of scenario BSNL is very good optionso that you don’t have to recharge a huge amount every month, and you can keep the number with you, so that people who love you can call you. I have bought BSNL number recently and whatever you said in this video, I’m totally agree with you. Internet is very slow. Sometimes it is a good but maximum of the time is very slow. It is kind of not usable, but what I have seen that the calling function is good And I can get or do calling any time with 3G or 4. So the people who does not need internet that much, they can keep it as their number so that they can call people and receive calls from their loved ones.

But still good and if you have big family and you don't want to spend money on high cost recharges... And I'm thinking to port into BSNL... 😅😅 And don't want 5g recharge because it's unlimited and Addictive (mostly time waste)

Vodafone could have made a comeback but yes they were greedy and paid the price, they should have kept the price as it was before. And talking about bsnl, no chance noo chance of bsnl gaining the 3rd position, yes the plans are cheap, but connectivity my goodness, our area has 4g but it doesn't support volte. Eveytime i play coc and receive a call i either cut the call or just accept the call even though i didn't want to do either😂

1. Used BSNL 4g in 2022 it was a good . 2. Ftth is awesome like outage is 3 -4 times in last 4 years . Cheaper with 4000 gb cap i barely use 1000 gb with 12 devices. 3. Government should club offers for FTTH and Mobile users so they increase ecosystem. Like add 100 rs more to get 1gb per day for mobile users

@afksolitude17 күн бұрын
those literally do not depend on the sim provider lol 1. Video calls depend on apps and minimum speed 2. Website optimisation 3. OTP sending depends on the sender's optimisation

Let’s face this..BSNL is sarkari so be rest assured..BSNL will keep on installing 4G towers and also launch 5G NSA services in 2-3 years. The real question isn’t, “Can BSNL make a comeback?” but rather, “Will private telecom lobbies let the government prioritize the common citizen’s interests?” Private players have always found ways to stack the deck in their favor. They know exactly how to nudge consumer behavior and strategically undercut PSUs to keep their own profits flourishing. Another question worth asking is, “Will Indians hold private telecoms accountable for dangling unsustainable offers and then breaching trust?”

Hi, I am from Ahmedabad. BSNL has been my primary sim since I got my 1st mobile. I got additional Jio sim starting 2017. In my area I started getting BSNL 4G services around a month back. I didn't experienced that HD voice clarity on BSNL 4G. Also I faced a weird problem with BSNL 4G, even though BSNL's data was off, still it deducted 0.25 balance from my main balance for several times in a day. So switched back to 3G network type because of this.
