Loraine Akers we had to put our old dog down 3 years ago. The day after Christmas. By Valentine's day I already had another one. Like you I was heart broken. I didn't think I was ready but my husband said " let's just go look" . His famous last words. Last time he did that we ended up with a brand new truck. But when I saw Oreo it was indeed love at first sight. And when he came and put his head on my shoulder, just like Harley always did, I knew Harley had given his approval.

Just wait till she really starts to chew. I once went to the bathroom and left our pup alone for about three minutes. I came back to a chewed up sandal, a destroyed unplugged extension cord and $27.00 of shredded cash. He had a $5 bill in his mouth when I caught him. He went to puppy training class the next day.

When we got our corgi she was about 2 months old. We couldn't go to the bathroom without her on our heels. That's one way of keeping tabs on her. She's 12, soon to be 13. We had our first corgi for 13 years & she had cancer. We had to have her put down on my birthday. I still cry for her. 😢 But I love our second one. I ♥️ her.

It's like caring for a baby. For the first 3 months of having Doodle we asked ourselves What have we done? Turned our retired life upside down for sure. Doodle's 9 months now and there are days we still ask ourselves the same question. Just knowing the rewards down the road make it worth it. Puddy is so cute and I know she will be spoiled just like our Doodle is. Some days I tell Doodle it's a good thing you're cute.
