Texas is leading the way in this department. I teach a class called Exploring Careers that does all of these things. By law, students must receive this education before they leave middle school. Your talk is great and spot on!

Hi Roxanne, what you say is so true. How can I help my child find their career choice options, because it was not given to them in school. Thanks

What is "Practical service to people?" How does it differs from theoretical service to people? Is this what police do? It's written to serve and protect on their cars. And they are pretty practical.

This was amazing and I agree wholeheartedly! I feel there is a career for each kid based on their interests, talents and values. I love this! I am studying to be a school counselor and this is very inspiring with some great ideas! I agree this exploration needs to start in grade school and not just in high school.

We definitely have needed this for decades. Where I went to school, (in the 1980's) the assumption was that you would either inherit the family farm, marry someone who was inheriting a farm, go to vo-tech, or otherwise, graduate quietly while pretending to be very sentimental about it, then go away and not bother anybody.

Where can i find the tests mentioned early in the talk? My 20 year old son is struggling to find his path.
