I love to see Black women live out loud. But if wellness is the real goal, I don't think we can shop our way there. So what are our favorite tools and tips to make our every day lives easier? The unspoken issue for Black women wanting to marry is the reluctance to date non-black men. Date men from cultures and families that raise men to be financial providers. Moving abroad expands the pool of eligible marriage partners.

I’ve had trouble- in dating and friendships- with non black people who celebrate Black women divorcing our culture only because they think-and will say to your face- that lighter children and sparser black communities is an improvement. I’ve ended up completely alone lately because of that.

The stress of integration will be a weight too. Some black women are used to navigating all kinds of situations.They will do well and be most likely to try this. It may solve the marriage issue but create new stress. I think being single is a better option for some black women though. I would personally love for us to start our own country and live off the land.

Please ladies, hire a housekeeper. Ive been one for 7 or 8 years, and ive only worked with a handful of black women. They are always apologetic about having to hire me and I have to remind them that we are helping each other. This is how I pay my bills. No one likes cleaning, but I love the time and freedom that it affords me. Most white people that I've worked with are used to having a housekeeper, so its no big deal. Middle Eastern people (older ones) are horrible, and ive stopped accepting them as clients. I would love to see more black women getting their house cleaned. Even though I'm quitting it very soon 😆

I've been happily married almost 29yrs to my college sweetheart. Me too. I have LOVED being single these last 3 years. I’ve experienced the most personal growth ever in my life. What it’s actually done though is not convince me to stay single forever. It’s convinced me to find that partner that makes my life even better. It’s just raised the bar soooo high that any man that doesn’t recognize the goddess in me is going to be an instant turn off, no matter what. Goes without saying but just to avoid confused people- said partner would be adequately adored and supported in return because literally how could you not when you’ve been given such a gift?

This is one reason I agreed to move to Poland. When we first married, my husband asked me if I'd ever want to move to Poland. Back to his hometown. I said Heck no. I'm used to working and would want to continue to work. After several trips to Europe, I was hooked on traveling. The first half of my childhood dream. Then I started to write again. Hubby said to quit the job that kept me stressed and write. The second half of my childhood dreams. Once I started making twice what it would take to live in Poland, I suggest to him we should move to Poland. Like I really had to convince him. LOL. We had to wait for proof of his citizenship, which we received a week before Thanksgiving. The plan is to leave the day after his doctor appointment (his heart and device) so we're leaving in 83 days. Enough time to get our house ready to sell.

He's from Poznań. His entire family is there and we're trying to go every few years. We're just planning a trip for summer 2022 to attend a family wedding.

@@serat0947 Actually, we're still here. He left in 1981, so 2012 was his first time back. I love it there. Plus, going to a different country is like going to another state. We would fly to Poland about once a year after we got married. We would have moved there last year, but hubby didn't have proof of citizenship. Then the initial paperwork was sent to the wrong state in Poland. When they sent the papers to us, the address wasn't spelled out correctly, but FedEx figured it out. So what should have taken 3 months pre pandemic took 11 months. Papers came in a week before Thanksgiving. We're leaving the the day after his doctor appointment for his heart and device. We'll be in Rzeszów in 69 days (I have a counter running on my computer). His older family really don't speak English (especially his best friend who lives down the road), but his younger family do and well well as most of the younger people.

He just renewed it this summer and the wait for an appointment in NYC was months. I know you know about that. Lol. I'm lucky that most of my husband's family speaks English. His parents, aunts/uncles, and cousins are all conversational or above with the exception of one couple. Are you good with languages? I've been learning a little Polish but it's so hard. We haven't practiced in a while since I'm trying to complete as many books as I can before we leave. Since all the kids are grown and have their own homes, it became the best to to go ahead and move.

Most people don’t realize that they have been programmed to be consumers which requires you to spend your precious time in pursuit of things that in the end hold little value. If you aren’t hustling to make more money in order to have more things you are seen as having no ambition. We are trained to desire an unhealthy life. Doing as little as possible is considered lazy by some but in reality it is self-preservation from a very toxic world.

constantly grinding, hustling, and striving to obtain wealth is inherently masculine. This is a masculine trait, along with competition. We all have masculine and feminine, but its important to find BALANCE. participating in your masculine 24/7 always thinking about money is going to stress you out. this is why i feel so stressed and rough from constantly hustling and obtaining wealth. i had a short fuse, aggressive and stubborn. i'm now participating more in my feminine, have reduced my constant need for so much money, and my patience has increased 10 fold. I'm much more relaxed, caring, and flexible in my thinking. its a powerful feeling. we need to embrace our feminine as well. femininity isn't just getting your hair and nails done. you can LOOK very feminine and not be practicing in your feminine. there has to be balance

Now I’m not saying there is anything inherently wrong with masculine, we all have masculine and feminine. It’s about balance. But it becomes hard to balance when you’re in an environment that forces you into hustle mode 24/7. I feel for the blacks in America after all my observations. Being at ease is Ok for everyone or every human being. I can not understand why black people in America should be subjected to all these inhuman treatment. You don't need any one to direct your world. You don't have to feel les important or different from others because of your colour. I am Nigerian leaving in Belgium for the past 34yrs. I never really been subjected to all these stuffs as in America. There are racist in Europe but it has nothing to compare to what is happening in America. I walk with my head up and my children have excellent social lives and I have good social life too. I agree with you Stephanie America is hell for most blacks. There is nothing wrong at all to date out side your race. I have not been with a black man since I was 23 yrs and I am now 57 . I have black and White friend and family and even Mexican lady of whom I have been friend with since 1986, we are still friends. I mean, I don't feel inferior because of my skin colour. I admire my blackness and will never change it for anything in the world.

I can definitely understand how some women embrace ease by not dealing with a lazy partner, that is a great decision. I am married and we have 3 kids, however we are a team and work together and share responsibilities. We actually love but more importantly like each other. 😂 The funny thing is that my husband has always been a huge supporter of me embracing ease and I was the one holding myself back. He was right! I am so into this movement. In 2015 I asked myself why I felt hopeless, depressed, and stuck every single day- and only was age 25. I did something about the answers I uncovered. I moved to California, smoke my lil weed everyday, life the most lush pleasure-forward life with no kids and a community I'VE chosen for myself. I have my groceries delivered every Saturday morning from ShopRite (I’m in NJ), and pay someone to do my laundry. These are both things I once was staunchly against doing. I was an anxiety-filled, perfectionistic over achiever who had a nervous breakdown that has taught me the importance of slowing down and not thinking I have to do everything. It’s still quite strange for me, but my body and brain were on overload, so I’m adjusting to embracing ease.

One of the best things I decided to do was including getting my hair braided in my monthly budget. I set aside $100 a month to get it braided every 3 months. That extra hour of sleep before work and being ready in a minutes notice to go out is priceless. I also decided to pay the neighbors' kid $20 a week to take my garbage out 3 times a week (I live in an apartment) I have bad knees and live on the 2nd floor. My brother lives with me (semi-dusty) and will wait until it overflows. This alone will relieve a LOT of stress. I also believe in grocery delivery from Whole foods!

Paid off my car because he said "that's what Daddy would have done" and paying 1/2 rent until he finds a place because as he said " no real man lives with his sister." Still dusty in how he deals with women as far as I'm concerned, but better than my ex husband ever did.

And our Daddy was a great example of how men protect and provide until he died: even with dementia,he would try to make sure I got home from work safe by having his nurse call every day(he still had the forethought to set his alarm clock to remind him, I work nights) until he died. I won't get married again until I find THAT kind of man.

I do order groceries and feel no guilt. I order through the supermarket website. I still put the groceries away myself but I love not having to traipse around the supermarket (Stop and Shop has Peapod delivery service) and use so much of my time when I could be relaxing or doing something else for myself.

I started ordering groceries during the pandemic and I never looked back! I order 95% of the groceries but I like to pickup a few things every once in a while. I order from a few different stores because I found that all produce is not equal. During the summer and fall I join a CSA and go to the farmers market.

I have always been hesitant to get my groceries delivered (covid has helped a bit with that) and to hire housekeeping (watching my grandmother clean her house daily by hand, i felt like it was a slap in the face to her). BUT, I do want more ease in my life, I friggin deserve it (and my grandmother deserved it), I've worked SO hard for SO long. SO, what I will commit to is to do way more grocery delivery from now on and to hire housekeeping for once a month to start (maybe work myself up to 2 to 3 times a month). So far, I have already reduced down my haircare routine and we bought a custom closet system, so I pretty much don't have to fold 90% of my laundry anymore (just hang it up).

I use delivery services for everything, I rarely shop anymore. I order online and have it delivered to my door no contact. I also bought a robotic vac that self empties and it's made my life easier with a big hairy dog who sheds. No more sweeping and mopping the floor. I love how tech has allowed me to eliminate toxic people and still get everything I need to live well.

thanks for this Stephanie. new subbie here. i do not feel guilty about getting housekeepers etc. over 15 years ago, a white girlfriend of mine told me she let the folks at laundromat wash her clothes. i was like, "WHET? that is so pretentious and privileged. and i dont want anyone touching my unmentionables." She said, "i work hard and i hate sittting in a laundromat. try it." CHILE...I did. when i ever got my clothes back FOLDED-it was a wrap!!!!! I've been getting my clothes laundered ever since. now, when i am at my mom's i do all of the laundry as she is in elder now and has a washer and dryer and i actually enjoy it. but when i am in my apartment it is much more easeful to take it out. i recognize this is a privilege. the funny thing, sometimes when i get my feet done ( by non black poc) i feel a certain type of way. i dont have an issue if they are black because i feel i am supporting ...it's weird.

And some people will intentionally take advantage. I retired in 2019 and have never had more income and less expenses. And I'm on a fixed income, lol Working kept me broke and worn out. My phone must have heard me talking about relieving stress in my day-to-day life and paying attention to what I've been purchasing lately as your channel appeared in my KZbin feed. I am 31 and I am OVER the stress of doing it all by myself. I've realized that my entire life I've been in survival mode and have decided that it's time for me to live. In an effort to embrace ease I've purchased a portable washer, dryer AND dishwasher. I refuse to leave my apartment to do laundry anymore even if its downstairs lol. The dishwasher even has a fruit setting to it has also made food prep easier. I've also started ordering groceries through Shipt which has been a huge help as well. I've FINALLY found a woman in my area who knows how to care for my crown who I plan to utilize to replace the dreaded wash day routine lol. Next I plan on looking into hiring a chef each week to cook all of my meals and a housekeeper. I am no longer in the business of doing things that I dont enjoy or that causes me stress. I would love to hear more about CSA farming! I spoke to the few blk farmers near me and they all (minus 1) were in bad shape due to the drought and covid. They aren’t getting the same support as other farmers. (Not my words) so I would love to learn how to support local farmers

I love the balance this conversation brings. I love luxury as well and have worked extremely hard to live the lifestyle I created. Adopting a lifestyle of do as little as possible is a struggle for me because I’m used to doing more than necessary. I know I’ll need watch this a few more times for it to really sink in.

Thank you to Ms. Perry and all the women commenting with your input! I am learning a lot on this journey towards ease. One thing I have experienced as someone who doesn't like living a fast-paced, always on- the- go, grind until you burnout lifestyle, I find that others around me frown upon anything other than that. Anytime I have brought up the idea of doing less and moving at my own pace it's always, "how lazy", "sounds unfulfilling", "you gotta stay motivated". It's quite frustrating to say the least and saying that I am tired is an understatement. All I know is, I don't want to hear a peep from anyone who has made such comments once they see how more comfortable and less stressed a life of ease can really be!

I love all of this. I’m in the US and our dog is largely my responsibility and “pet waste removal” service is a wonderful thing. Yes, we pay someone to come to our backyard and pick up 💩. I would say it’s the best $15/week that I spend, but I also have a cleaning person who I cherish.

I’m going to add more ease to my life by asserting myself and expecting/welcoming accommodation. For example instead of waiting for vehicles to clear/go by I’m going to walk through the pedestrian area and they can just stop.

I appreciated this video. I am similar age to you, and struggle with embracing ease in family relationships but fully embraced ease in romantic relationships by taking a sabbatical from them many years ago. the conversation about delegating chores to others as paid work. I don't struggle with the concept but I do struggle with the realities of underpaying for the domestic work just as others do. this has helped me decide that I can hire domestic help, but when i decide to do this I will be paying overmarket for the help (because this work is severely underpaid!!) my grandmother was a housekeeper for over 60 years; I cannot imagine doing it any other way. so i will wait until I'm able to do it with spiritual (as well as financial) ease.

I’m 48 also from Mississippi. Planning on retiring early soon and move back to Mississippi for the slower pace. I need a garden, to slow down, spend time with my elderly parents and siblings. Travel more and do more genealogy research and read books. Try new recipes. I’ve also opted out of relationships because married women seem so stressed about pleading their man or losing them. They seem so insecure all the time. Men expect to be pleased and I just can’t do it.

Peace of mind first, luxury is great however it is not necessary to have 3 or 4 L.V. bags,4 or 5 $300.00 wallets( which I do) that you really do not need. How many cars in the driveway and clothes you still have tags on etc,... After a while it gets boring..sorry The happiest Ive been is when I lived in Italy, Spain, and now Puerto Moroles , Mexico. More freedom to be me and no need to talk about what you have! True freedom does not make you a slave to credit card debt, keeping up with the Jones or a job that does not allow growth. P. S. Real rich people do not invest in loads of designer threads and cars. They travel in order to grow , buy property and those outside of the U.S. seem to have closer family ties.

I flew Turkish Airlines 3 years ago and the experience was horrendous. They are grifters and don't deliver anything they promise. I wound up having to book a last minute car and hotel because of their screw ups. The flight was fine at first, but customer service rapidly deteriorated the closer we got to Istanbul.
