How can car dealers serve YOU better? VW Caddy, Land Rover Defender automotive dealer issues

Ever had issues with a main car dealer? This is for you! In a changing world and automotive innovation being driven forward, what is the future for car and automotive dealerships? What is the future of car retail? How will electric vehicles change our need for a dealer to exist? Electric cars and EVs are coming so how will this change the car industry?
Using examples of issues I have experienced with VW and Land Rover main dealers, I explain how they have perhaps lost touch (in my opinion) with car lovers and van enthusiasts. I welcome anyone from these companies to contact me via this channel or my instagram (link in channel homepage) to discuss these matters.
Specialist automotive suppliers may well flourish in the new world but main dealers will definitely have to adapt in my opinion.

I have found main dealers don't have specialist electrical skills to solve complex problems. Fit in new parts, yes, but trouble shoot and fix problems nope. I had an issue with the clutch switch on my VAG group car, no one could solve it (car would not start without clutch being presed). In the end a vehicle transporter chap gave me a tip on an independent car electrical place and they fixed it quicky and found a broken wire so of course fitting new sensors did not work. What was interesting is main dealer technicians in various uniforms (mercedes,bmw, audi, vw, lexus etc) were dropping off cars to fix problems because they could not whilst I was waiting.

Thanks. It is totally shocking isn’t it?! Pardon the obvious electrical pun there. As you say, good at fitting (expensive) parts. It’s a shame as the change of the market is the ideal time for them to reinvent themselves and serve a whole new sector in a fresh way. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it

Great to see you back . I used to work for vw and Audi dealership over 10 years ago and even then the costumer service was terrible. Just interested in the most profit fom a costumer. I left after they were bought out by inchcape and just treated you as just a number.will you be attending any shows this year, I'm showing my MK4 golf GTi (owned for over 20 years) at ultimate dubs in march, would be lovely to meet you my friend.looking forward to more content soon .

I had the same experience with VW. Always wanted a nice new T6, got one and the total experience with main dealers and so called specialist was a nightmare. The modified nonsense, because it was lowered and had 20" wheels. Everything was a headache. Every job from paint to stereo upgrades had to be done twice. When under warranty, VW never had a replacement vehicle, then post COVID, had to wait up to three months to have repairs etc done. An absolute stressful f.....G joke. This country is dead. No customer service just lying money grabbing Cu..s.

Simply not acceptable is it. Sorry to hear of your issues and hope the van you ended up though was worth the stress with the dealers? As long as mods don’t drastically change the vehicle under warranty I just don’t understand their refusal to accept them. Anyway, enjoy your van pal and thanks for watching
