Guns at a card show is a concept that I have never had to think about before. Totally get it, not surprised. Just never had that thought across my mind. Whew. Really enjoyed the conversation, guys!

This last weekend here in Las Vegas Front Row Card Show (450) tables, I noticed a much larger Police presence over previous shows. Also I talked to one dealer who may have had a 7K card stolen. He wasn't sure if it got mixed up in a box of cards a gentleman he knows and was going to meet up later for dinner. He was definitely anxious. Great discussion guy. Have fun in Cleveland. 🙂

Kyle may have been told by law enforcement not to speak publicly about the case because it’s an active investigation.

I comment as I listen along which I do on almost all of my. 1. That guy is looking for an internet fight, best to move on as he sounds like an ambulance chasing attorney if I had to take a guess, or someone who has it out for the show promoter. 2. The way the world is today, I would love to go back to more people having self accountability and the one who was robbed did just that. So that is all anyone like Kyle can do which is a lot based on the info we have, and those comments will never stop because people like Tim exist. 3. We live in a reactionary world, in the country roads where you have a 4 way stop, no lights and a crash happens with a fatality...next week you see a red and caution 4 way flashing street lights on a road that never had a fatality in over 50 years since the road was paved. Arm chair QB isn't for me. 4. I reserve 1 auto, please make it at 7:04pm, I am not much for conversation 😂. Lastly I will add this suggestion for all channels. Make a video and or list of what you are looking for and possibly have up for trade. Better deals can be had at trade night, or buy and sell night. I would rather have a card in my collection that came from another collector that may have a good story to go along with it over a haggle deal at a dealer table. Just my personal preference, and I feel the dollar and card will go a lot further at a trade night. See you all Thursday ✌🏽⚾️🇺🇸

Living outside of Boston, the Gardner Museum heist is part of local lore. This theft totally felt like that. There isn't much in-person security could have done in the moment. It was conducted at such a quiet time that nobody was on alert. I doubt anyone is running a card show is going to hire security for after the show - how long do you expect them to have people on hand. 30 minutes? One hour? two hours? That can be a lot of coin.

One bad thing about the national in Chicago is that security there is a joke plus you an auction house right at the main entrance with all the smash and grabs

The tops of these display cases are mostly glass. A lock isn't going to keep anyone out, once they're in the privacy of their car or secluded location.

Dealers with very high end inventory very simply need to hire their own private security during the show

Embed RFID (or Air Tag, or some other similar technology) into the graded card slabs. Get on this, PSA!

It’s not the shows fault but it’s just a tough situation because when it happened from my understanding was when the show was over. Ash and other dealers have a false sense of security because the public is gone. You wouldn’t leave a case like that just laying there in the middle of the show. I’ve been at the show right up until closing time . I always assumed if I stayed after closing time somebody would come up to me and ask me what I’m doing there because I don’t have a staff or dealers badge . That’s my only issue with the whole thing from a show organizer perspective But small thefts happen all the time. I’m sure cards get stolen dealers don’t even know about. Dealers get in a hurry . I’ve grabbed a pile a cards and went to pay and the dealer had thought I already paid. I could have easily walked off with stuff . I think we all get in the card show and get excited to see one another and as a dealer I think you have to remind yourself anybody can walk off the street and come into the Dallas card show. It’s not a safe place. Just because you see familiar faces everywhere. There’s opportunist everywhere that are willing to steal from you if you aren’t watching out for yourself

The Dallas Show is just as safe as any other show. Only shenanigans I've heard of or seen on KZbin are that one thief that got caught, fake slabbed Jordans and the customer that got robbed in the parking ramp.

Like you said "I'm surprised it doesn't happen more". Its a sad reflection on society. I think Kyle has provided more than adequate event security. The scarier thing is as well targeted as this was there are obviously people involved that know the hobby perhaps beyond the actual thieves. Has to be some good guaranteed money waiting. Enjoy the national!!!
