Its not that the players are that bad they cant compete. Its they dont conpete at that level week in week out.

1. Work on reading midfield mistakes and risks - downfall vs Madrid and Dortmund -> work out scenarios built on the examples - Sellik players can do this in training. 2. Work on basic defensive mistakes and being too gung-ho on the counter-attack and high-press - Brendan seemed to acknowledge this. Maeda was very guilty of this when trying to defend like he attacks - he has to be coached to defend correctly - otherwise he is better not coming back to 'help' out. 3. Learn and develop, how to switch from defensive midfield to offensive midfield. This will have to be done at least 1 day a week in training [Sellik players are good enough for this] - because the SPL cannot provide this. This is down to the coaching regime, vision and schedule. Sellik do not have the £$€ or domestic opposition to compete at this level - but this does not mean that they cannot train to work at this level - Lennon managed to defeat a vastly superior Barcelona team, through careful study.

If you assume every chance should be a goal Celtic could have had 5 with their level of finishing. Even scoring 50% of shots is a high % so does seem like every chance is a goal.

Is he an elite manager? He got Leicester relegated. Klopp replaced him at Liverpool and had a far higher win percentage. Rodgers WON 50% of his games at Liverpool, Klopp WON 60%, and Klopp had a far higher sample size.

Bad performance all round against St Johnstone,,you will still get a win. Bad performance against champions League finalists,,aye,and everyone had a shocker,, great lesson for them,,,is what it is. Nothing to do with the manager,Celtic are buying in 10/12 million players most are younger lads doing there best against 30/50 million plus players Celtic will take 10 to 20 years to get in top 8 of CL the gap is bigger than that in Scotland Celtic are a cool 200 million ahead the rest of the SPFL ,but are 500 million behind top 8 in CL.

They were obviously a different level. It didn’t help that the whole team collapsed. They couldn’t even pass the ball. Atalanta will be a defeat, it’s the manner of that defeat. Let’s see how Dortmund do. Of course they aren’t good. Really? Or are you just trying to make it worse claiming they are not a good team. You never want us to win. I suppose it’s the only highlight of your season, seeing us get taken to the cleaners. Your real team provide nothing. That doesn’t take away how bad we were. But, we were never going to win in Dortmund or Atlanta, or Villa for that matter. It’s the other games that were always the key to our progress or lack of. Atalanta will tell us if we have improved.
