Deni has been consistent defensively throughout his career and last year he got even better per say if he improves even more on defense I think he can make an all defensive team tbh deni doesn’t really need to improve a specific category he just needs to go a little higher then last year, I think defense might be the biggest category for him to improve on but he improved over 10% on 3PT% and improved heavily in scoring and passing, amazing video though

Deni has to improve left hand driving and finishing and if he continues to be at least 35% 3P shooter - he'll be able to score close to 20 ppg

Great vid but the deni one was very worng deni is a great defender, he is consistent and he's putting a lot of effort into the defensive side of the floor, in he's first 3 seasons he's defense was pretty much the only reason he got a good amount of minuets minutes

Thanks for the comment! Thats good to know. Based on numbers it seemed like his defense got worse each year but as another comment stated, it seemed that was more due to the teams as a whole and not Deni. Excited for this year regardless for him!
@GilTheCohenАй бұрын
You got it wrong on Deni. His defense was consistently good, it was the Wizards as a team getting worse. I would want Deni to improve his mid-range shot to widen his arsenal

the Blazers need a new coach with a winning system. It's helped the Pacers, Thunder, Magic, & Pelicans take leaps forward. There's a lot of really lazy defense showing up in Portland. Excessive losing is wearing guys out.

I agree. Hopefully guys like Scoot, Donovan Clingan, and Deni will bring and start a winning culture in PDX

While I agree that Shaedon could still improve with his ball handling. I don't think it's his biggest need. Where I would like to see him improve has to do with his mindset. To me, up until this point he has looked like a player trying to fit in, which is to be expected from young players. When he decides to take over, he will be lethal. The guy has all the tools to be great.
@pnwdevvАй бұрын
I almost went with mindset, but he seems kinda like a Kawhi sorta guy where he just lets his game speak for itself haha

deni is one of the best one on one defender in the league is defensive numbers looks bad because in dc he nedded to guard three player evrey time because of jordan pool and tyus jones tou will see that he will be the best defender on the blazzers next seseason !!!!!

The whole Ayton is lazy and low effort is a false and lazy take. In the first month of the season Ayton was averaging 15 boards and 4 stocks a game while only averaging 7 shots a game. Even Chauncey commented how surprised he was that Ayton wasn't frustrated because he would have been frustrated not getting the ball.
@pnwdevvАй бұрын
I wish lol. He averaged 12/10/1 on 10 shots per game (average) in his first month as a Blazer
@crowquillАй бұрын
@@pnwdevv Appreciate the precise stat correction, but I think MrJJ's point was that Ayton's poor performance wasn't due to a lack of effort, but the team not knowing what to do with him. As a center who isn't named Nikola Jokic, he depends on someone to feed him the ball. But the weird thing is that Ayton thrives in the midrange, where conventional wisdom is that a center should be be a low-block fixture. Seems like it took the Blazers half a season to realize that passing to Ayton at the elbow was money. As he got more utilization, he definitely upped his motor... so you're both right? Should be fun to see what he does in 2024-25 with that established from game 1.
@pnwdevvАй бұрын
@@crowquill Ahh, good point! Definitely feel like it was a little bit of both, but regardless, both didn't seem to be issues in the 2nd half of last season. Ayton seemed to be dedicated, and the team seemed to use him better. Suer excited for this season also for him!
