Luka is so entertaining to watch. His movements are so precise that his speed doesn’t matter. It’s like he’s in that scene from The Matrix.

which scene are you referring to? cuz' before he came back from death, he was too slow to beat an agent, and after he came back they were too slow to beat him. Speed was like the biggest thing in the Matrix until Neo learned how to make bullets stop mid-flight and fall to the ground. But I wouldn't classify that as a "precise movement" on his part, either.

Also, the kind of basketball he plays will most likely make him have a longer prime than most (assuming no significant injuries), as his main traits -- basketball IQ, defense reading, court vision, passing, clutch shooting etc. -- are more mental than physical in nature (as opposed to speed, explosion, quickness, jumping etc.), so not only they will take longer to decline, but some of them might even increase with time and experience in the league. His career is one of a kind -- guy is elite since 13, a pro since 16, accomplished in Europe since 18 and a record-breaking machine in the NBA since 19, now at 25 and might not even have entered his prime, which could easily last up to 35ish and beyond. Not sure he'll play in the NBA for that long, tho; but he could end up with some insane numbers even without playing 21+ years like Kareem or LeBron.

The way the American media downplayed Luka by calling him slow, sluggish, and couldn't make the NBA was downright disrespectful. He is literally Top 5 scorers in the league today. The speed wasn't a problem because his technical qualities are just that good.

He see the game very slowly, while everyone else mind focus on specific details, Luka able to be few steps ahead of everyone. This is probably the right way to play basketball in today modern NBA. Honestly I don't want to see another LeBron James dominate the league he did. The guy was a fucking monster. But it's time to bring back the finest of the NBA. That was mostly the younger crowd and media talking heads that said that. I grew up watching Larry Bird slice and dice up players that were supposedly faster and more athletic so I had no qualms about Luka making it. He is not only a Top 5 scorer. He was the top scorer this season. He is also a Top 5 player and a debatable top player (Jokic has my nod right now). As for the naysayers, I will say many black players have the Eminem complex. It is beyond obvious that Luka is one of the top players in the world but black players are slow to give credit to non-black players---just like Eminem in hip-hop is one of the best rappers but a lot of black rappers do not like to give him credit.

As a dutch person, it's nice to see how european players are showing american players how fundamental basketball gets you further then all this fancy stuff. Don't get me wrong, the US has the most individual talent, but the best players are the ones who have great individual talent and are also great team players. European basketball has less ego in it (more passing for the best option) which creates players like Luka and Nikola.

SO ALL THAT FUNDAMENTAL GARBAGE YOU WROTE MEANS NOTHING BECAUSE THE GAME WAS FAR BETTER WHEN YOU COULD HAND CHECK AND PLAY GOOD DEFENSE! WYTE OWNERSHIP WANTED TO “LIGHTEN” UP THE LEAGUE SO THEY CHANGED THE RULES LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO WHEN THEY CANT COMPETE! AND NOW THE GAME IS SUFFERING AS A RESULT!

Slovenijan pride, Luka Magic. The guy now threatens so many "classic" NBA stars and commentators that still - with almost impossibly top notch stats - he does not get all the credits he should. But as always and as MJ, LBJ, Dirkules etc. had to cope with: you need a title and baaaammmm, people suddenly change their minds. For me - grown up with the late 80s Pistons, Lakers and the 90s Bulls, this guy represents the highest ever basketball IQ without being super athletic. Simply amazing and a legend to grow to the hall of fame.

I grew up in basketball. My mother played for the American Redheads. All I ever heard about was Pistol Pete. Being born in 1979, I never saw him play, but I studied him in everything. Doncic is the reincarnation of Pistol Pete. He only needs to improve his defense and he will be the greatest Guard to ever play the game.

The reason you dont see many triple doubles happening in Europe is not because of less minutes played but because of a little thing called DEFENSE.

I always knew Luka was going to be in a finals. I just didn't think it would be that quick. Thankfully he has a good team around him an Kyrie to take the heat off him so that he doesn't have to do everything to win.

Luka just needed a good teammate in order to do great things. He had Jalen Brunson but Jalen became good during the 2021-22 season when him and Luka reached the Western Conference finals and then they traded him to the Knicks where he started playing his best basketball. Jalen wasn't great before the 2021-22 season. Kyrie has been a great help. Good thing they managed to get him.

I watched MJ every year he played. There will never be another like him. I will watch Luka as long as he plays if I live that long. He is the best and he appreciates Option 1A more than anyone else and the other teammates he gets the very best out of. The first team I ever followed was Boston but as good as they are Dallas is the best. I can’t wait for this year’s series.
