@@torturingsouls9635 "Especially the whistle notes"? Those are the only notes she did not hit. And those notes happen to be the least important ones in this song. Whistle notes are used for effect and don't hold any lyrical significance. As for the important parts, she hit virtually everything, and even sustained the mixed/belted G5 in the original. In some of her recent renditions of the same song, she ascended to a mixed A5 for effect. When she sang "Feeling Good" twice with Ledisi in 2019, she sustained a full-bodied Bb5 with no visible effort in both performances. Name one other female singer over 60 who has that much freedom and consistency in her upper belting/mix. I seriously can't think of anyone except Patti LaBelle (and maybe Karen Clark Sheard), and I know a ton of veteran singers with well-preserved voices. Also often ignored is how much she gained in the bottom part of her range. She can bring her chest voice down to a baritonal A2 with strength, fullness, and consistency, which is difficult even for some men.

yeah she would have been a SUPERSTAR but the grind and the attention she got she couldn't handle it. She liked being background she sustained a successful career doing that but man this women can move mountains with her voice.

Classic song by a very Classy & Sophisticated, Gifted and Talented Artist Lisa Fischer ! GOD continue to Preserve & Protected the GIFT he has given her. Sing Lisa 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Well song👍🏾 Grace✌🏾✊🏾!!!

Out of love and respect for Lisa Fischer most people won't comment and say it but the original version is far superior to this slow down Jazzy version. It is though a pleasant surprise to hear and see that she still has her chops after all of these years❤. The original version of this song did something to my heart back in the day when it dropped, I don't think anyone could have heard the original version of this song and not be profoundly impacted musically.

True, she put a little twist on it. The original is epic. But I enjoyed this version as well. Her voice is 🤯still! But I was waiting for certain notes from the original. I love both versions. I’m just happy to see her. I always wondered what happened to this amazing mind blowing artist.

She doesn't sound as "shaky" as normally older singers sound when they age. there's a hint of it but not bad. in fact her high notes were good. she still has a couple of years to go b4 she retires. that song brings back good vibes. though I was a kid when it was a hit, my brother (dj kicks) could always get people to the dance floor well into my teens with it. I'm glad she's still performing. 👍😉👌

I hear you, but she was flawless on this. I didn’t think of her age at all…just the pure perfection of her voice. That’s it. Period.
