Lisa stepped away from the spotlight. She’s always been apprehensive and reluctant about fame. She enjoys singing in the background and in intimate settings. She was very comfortable for many years singing backup for Luther Vandross until he died. She also was a prominent singer with Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones. She continued her singing career singing backup for Tina Turner until she retired. Now Lisa Fischer has completely changed her image and brand. She has stripped away the glitz and glamor as a sexy R&B diva and has settled in to a very bohemian relaxed jazz alternative artist. She now sings her Grammy winning hit “How Can I Ease The Pain” as a complex jazz alternative ballad and now performs and tours with her Band Grand Baton. Lisa was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet from Stardom and has performed backup with a number of other artists such as Sting, Nine Inch Nails and Chaka Khan. Presently, she doesn’t wear makeup on or offstage. She wears her hair short and natural and performs barefoot onstage. She is a very spiritually connected artist and is divinely connected to the universe in her art and in her life. She is still more beautiful than ever, inside and out. 💝🎶🕊
