The Greek immigration laws require foreign workers to obtain work permits and visas. It can be challenging for new companies entering the Greek market to secure work permits for employees and sponsor them through a locally licensed and incorporated entity.
Work permits and visas are not required for EU and EEA nationals to work in Greece. Work visas and work permits are required for non-EU and non-EEA nationals in order to legally work in the country. D Visas entitle the holder to enter Greece and stay for a minimum of three months, as well as engage in most paid activities. National insurance and social security must also be applied for by non-EEA nationals.
