I have a sincere question So, im teaching myself (islam) and im so confuse and overwhelmed. my question is Why is it so important to say the salats verbena? Why can't i pray with my own heartfelt words? At least until i can get used to performing the prayers and finding someone to teach me how to pray. Just curious

Assalamualaikum sister. I understand your struggle as i am a revert myself. What we recite in the prayers are the words of God that are written in the Quran, and some small parts are the words that the prophet Muhammad may peace and blessings be upon him used to always recite in the prayers. When you learn the meaning of what we recite in the prayers, through English translation for example, you will insha Allah understand the importance of reciting those verses. Moreover, what we recite in the prayers is divided into different sections with specific meaning/ purpose for each that make a structure to our salat. So we come back to God's guidance when we recite the words of God with our heart in the salat. Our belief system got reinforced through the verses. Many verses, when you learn more of them in your journey ahead, can relate to your own situations and you will burst into tears when reciting them in your salat, and you will hold them dearly to your heart, because they give you comfort and reassurance and strength to keep moving forward and be patient. There's space for our own words in the salat though, which is: when you're in sujud (head touching the ground), and after you have said salam to the angels on your right and left shoulders. These are the times for you to talk to God with your own words about what you're feelings and the situations you're in, and what you need to ask Allah for. You can also talk to Allah all day anywhere anytime because Allah loves those who remember Him much ❤ So this is what I can share with my poor expression and limited knowledge about Islam. Can brother Nouman addresses the issue of Islamic books for kids and adolescents in English and other Latin languages. The one I can find in the UK are very low quality level, leaflets in baby and fantasy baby language at high price, around £5-10. I came across the Clear Quran for kids that attracted my 10 years old son, who read every day or two college level books. The Clear Quran is in 4 volumes with an exhorbitant price tag, over £200. I am not aware of any book, except the specialist one, at over £20. Do muslim authors are opportunistic to benefit from Islam and exploit muslims, getting quickly rich and famous. I am desperate to find decent attractive books for my son. I am appalled by the lack of decent Islamic books for our kids. Very shameful. Allah Al musta3ann

No Imam, NO NO NO! This type of preaching causes emotional and psychological stress on us believers. Are you surprised why people have the complete wrong picture of Islam, are you surprised on people being dependent on videos and TikTok to motivate to pray? Allah gave us a choice, always. We should be motivated to pray! We need to be reminded of the great benefits of prayer. Saying „you have no choice“ will lead us youngsters to feel bad when missing a prayer, we will fear Allah in a bad way. In what way? „ I don’t follow the ritual that I don’t understand, which Allah should know, but he will punish me nonetheless“. Your examples are so disingenuous. Why are you comparing the most important aspect of our lives, the belief in Allah, with going to work or going to university? I can miss a day in work without any issue when I consult my employer. He won’t send me to hell, but Allah will? This is the issue of the Islamic elite, the ulama, you always present our beautiful religion as a job, as a set of rituals that you HAVE to do. „It cannot be compromised, it cannot move“. Why? Is Allah this stiff and so strict without any compassion for us believers, astaghfirullah, you give Allah the worst attributes by talking like this.

he's talking about 'motivation' and the general principles of it in someone's life. he's using work as an *example* not as comparison to say work is more important than salah yada2 .. we're the ones that should question ourselves if we can go to work even though we're not 'motivated'. and fyi, iman is something that goes up n down 🤷

I mean if Im being real to myself and use my rationality, he is true tho. If Im looking at myself, when Im comparing myself when I dont wanna go to work for 8 hours but still ended up doing it because of some rules that applied in the company or salary, but when it is about praying and I feel lazy, it would be different yet it is only 10 mins pray and I will put any reasons to not praying yet Allah gives me so many things that I might not be gratefull of
