Another wonderful video 😍 Your humor is great! You washed your bananas 😂 Such beautiful plants you all have. I use to have a very large garden. I miss it. We planted everything. The okra was a lot of fun to tend to & watch grow really tall. Bell pepper plants were fun also. They produce for a very long time. I got to where I was making stuffed bell peppers & freezing them. Also chopped peppers up & froze them for soups & chili in the Fall & Winter. Thank you for another great video Dagny 👍 How you got your name, very interesting 💜 My aunt who is passed on, gave me my name 💜 See yall next time 👋☺

Here in So Calif we’re growing beans, zucchini, tomatoes, broccoli, lettuce, jalapeños, lots of herbs, green onions, carrots, cauliflower, snap peas, corn, cucumbers and avocados. Mind you our garden isn’t as big as it sounds, we have a couple of everything that I mentioned above. My husband is retired now and he’s enjoying his new found hobby. Thank you for another great video.

We have a hobby farm and with 11 acres of it we are growing alpha. My food gardens I have a large one with tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, and sweet peppers. In my near by to the house we have one large raised garden I grow Swiss chard and more cucumbers. In two 30 inch tall pots I grow Sunsugar cherry tomatoes my snack favorites. On my deck I grow leaf lettuce, red radish, and green onions all of these mature so fast it is nice to make a salad from the deck! We also feed the seed birds and hummingbirds. Stand near the hummingbird feeder they will get used to you and eventually you can feed them while holding the feeder. I've gone on too long but you hit my happiness button with the gardens and birds. I also grow milkweed for the Monarch butterflies. Perennial flowers are my favorite to grow. Enjoy your garden and birds.

My Dad was an avid gardener. When the plants were blooming, but still small, he told me to pinch the blossoms off when first planted. That would allow the plants energy to produce a strong plant and they always bloomed so beautifully a bit later on. :)

Thanks for adding the garden 🪴 portion. I love to garden as much as I love to thrift. I have a vegetable garden with tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and herbs. I grow from heirloom seeds. We also have grapes 🍇, a couple of apple trees a peach and plum tree, an almond tree and a pomegranate. I have pollinators including giant sun flowers. I’m working on becoming a Master Gardner and I help with our local seed Library. I live in south eastern Arizona.

Hi New Friend here. I completely understand the happy from your gardening. We get ours from the Mennonite greenhouse. When the pandemic hit we bought a knock out climber rose bush. Well they was needing in the ground. So she said Today they are not only $14.99 but Buy one get one free. So this year they are Huge and absolutely blooming beautiful. 6ft and growing. We discovered 2 pantry/grocery stores in the Mennonite community. And was able to get everything we needed. Without having to go any busy grocery store. We continue to drive the 16 miles to shop there. And they know us by name and us them. We adore them. Our yard is our happy place for sure. Your snapdragons (the top heavy flowers)are very healthy. I put mine in an old chicken feeder and they look awesome. I love Dusty Millers. I threw out some strawberries for the birds one year around the tree. We have strawberries all around the base of that tree. I have transplanted some into a flower bed. I thought that was amazing. The art glass heart is really a great find,love the color. Can't wait to see more of your videos. Your name and where it came from is awesome. Have a great week Dagny🌻

I quit feeding the bird's, they stop eating the seeds, around March, and We found the black rats, and ones called Norwegian rats, running around we pulled a dead rat out of our bedroom wall, that was so gross and our cat chased a rat alongside our house nasty, so watch the bird seeds, that you put them up at night so the rats and mice aren't eating it and wanting to come inside.

I live in Canyon Lake, Texas, and I have to fight the deer, raccoons, squirrels, porcupines, etc to grow anything in the actual ground. I grow potatoes, bell peppers, tomatoes, figs, and assorted flowers in large pots on my second and third floor decks (my house is on stilts). Even things marked "deer resistant", they will eat, but the bonus is that they also "plant* things! My property is full of large lantana bushes, lamb's ear, etc. You never know what will pop up!

The only things that the bugs or the birds haven't eaten (and grossed me out) are my rhubarb, sage, and chives. Tried a new method to start roses from cuttings, put the cut end in honey and stuck it in a banana chunk then planted it and put a plastic bottle on top with the cap removed. They look OK so far. If you want a super sweet squash try finding Sunshine Squash seeds, it is like candy.
@paulettedutcher20932 жыл бұрын
Plant some radishes around your zucchini and cucumbers and it will keep the squash bugs away. Also marigolds help with the bugs. Not sure about birds, I have a couple of outside cats plus I’m in the garden so much they don’t seem to bother it much. Also my bird feeders are very far away from the garden.

@@paulettedutcher2093 I have a small backyard so my "garden" consists of 10 flower pots and a lot of shade, so not much will grow. The rose cuttings I got from an old bush that's under a tree in a parking lot, so it gets little sun and not much water so hoping if the cuttings survive and it'll like that area. Had to give away my other roses, neighbor was blaming their watering on moss growing on his gravel path, plus he didn't want me walking on the path, so I put in a retaining wall with a drainage tube and he can't blame me for anything now. The homeowners association is on his case and he is finally weeding the area, one handful at a time.

I just moved here in November. It’s townhouses and all of the outside is the HOA’s responsibility. I bought 4 elevated planter boxes. I have a helper that came and put them together for me. And then, he got bags of dirt for me. I bought waaaaaaaay too many plants for them. It’s my forever home. If I wanted, I think with permission, I could plant in the landscape but I’m good for now. We have landscape es that come just about every week! (No grass) Some of the owners have plants flowering shrubs. I also bought a clematis vine. It only goes 8’-10’. I’m going to train it onto the back of 2 of the planter boxes to sort of mask the neighbors. (They’re not any big deal, more for privacy.) These boxes are in my back “yard.” My patio is tiny! Maybe 6’ x 6’. I measured my front porch which is larger but needs access to the front door. Lol. So there’s that. Ha! I carefully measured tge length and was pleased that there’s 4’ to make an L shape. I totally forgot to measure for depth. I also ordered the tint bistro table + 2 chairs. The resulting 2 planter boxes 4’ rack are also 2’ deep. No room for the table and chairs. Lol (blush). So we put the 2nd planter box on the ground on pavers. I also bought 2 hanging baskets from my daughter for my 2 grandsons’ co-op preschool fundraiser. One in front and one in back. Living in such a place is a huge learning curve. In the past, I’ve had gardens and flower beds. I’m 68 and actually rather enjoy not needing to take care of anything except these very small planter boxes. I wanted to get a fuchsia hanging plant but didn’t like the selection. Oops. I forgot to say I live in the NE Washington - the state not the capital.

I have enjoyed growing flowers since I moved to Arkansas. Some of my favorites that would do well in your area as well are Hosta's for shade. And a new found favorite is Colombine. They come in many colors and come back year after year. There are many annuals I still love to plant, but I try to do as many perennials as possible. Portulaca and caladiums are two other favorites. I am installing a raised bed this year to try to grow some veggies. I also plan on adding a tower garden to my porch - when it gets built so I can have herbs. I cannot pass a rosemary plant without touching it and breathing in the scent from my hands lol Cant wait to see the garden as it progresses

I renewed my interest in painting and have learned how to quill and scrapbook. It was such a difficult time for all but I saw so many people come together and lift each other. I have never seen so many air plants in one spot!! (WA St. I know you know,, we are somewhat limited). I grow strawberries, beans, squash, cucumbers,tomatoes.
