This guy is AMAZING. The audience should be in awe, I don't understand their lack of appreciation. The pauses between songs are necessary because he gives a crap. He wants to get the backing instruments absolutely perfect and he triggers them while plating and singing... Mind Blown 🤘🤘

Super talented and yet, he spent the entire set thinking about whether he should hire a pro to come out and fix his garage door opener or whether he should save the money and try to fix it himself. Which in more ways than one, explains exactly why when I realized I had other options, I opted out of trying to eek out a living as a 'local entertainer'. Its a thankless job that you get to where you can kinda do on autopilot both to your own amazement and everyone else, And you soon realize that as amazing as what you're able to do is, no one is ever going to pay you what you're truly worth to do it. So guys like him that are still doing it, are NOT doing it for the money. They're doing it because they've decided they need to do it regardless of how much they make. So if you see him, tip him well. He deserves it.

I remember coming home, red eyed, and a bit deaf, from a gig early one morning, and there were lights flashing behind me, with the horn beeping. When the guy got me to pull over he said the same thing, he said "It's like it's on a rubber band!!". It was my keyboard just sitting there, on the trunk of the car, where I left it, when I carried it out of the pub. The little rubber nibs on the bottom saved it from sliding from the trunk, I think. 😉

Technically he is using backing tracks. He's using a looper pedals, recording a phrase and then playing back and overdubs to add extra layers and adds live parts from time to time. Very talented, its harder than it looks. He could be a air tradfic controller.

My uncle Ray Roberson did this in the 70's - 80's. He played Bars and Holiday Inns as a 1 man band. He had everything in 1 rolling oak cabinet. He made it big in the Houston, TX area, but never BIG in the industry. Karaoke came out and put an end to singers/entertainers and the like.
