How can we be certain about the identity of Jesus? Why would anyone believe He was something more than a mere man? How could we ever know for sure? This clip was excerpted from one of J. Warner’s Q and A sessions (following a conference presentation).

The thing that is both funny and frustrating to me are Christians who don't think that Jesus is/was God. Something else that is equally so [funny & frustrating] are people who think that if the abilities of a supernatural and superpowerful being, God, are not conceivable by the human mind, then it's not possible... SERIOUSLY? If God's abilities were only limited to what my 3lbs brain could comprehend and conceive of, HE WOULDN'T BE WORTH ME WORSHIPPING!

Are they really Christians if they don’t believe that Christ is God? I’d argue they really aren’t

I concur. I've only told immediate family of the things Jesus has shown me and the one who I thought would be the most joyful was the one who came back at me with "That's not Jesus! That's Satan!" She said to me "If it's not in the bible it is of Satan". I can unequivocally say that my experiences and blessings have come from God and they are NOT from Satan. ✝️

If Jesus wasn't God, there couldn't be forgiveness of sin. How can they be considered Christians if they deny core beliefs of Christianity? To the second point, God is not bound to any laws he created. If God was, than he wouldn't be God and wouldn't be worthy. BUT, God is - if you want to think of it in that way - indeed bound to logic. He can't be illogical. He can't create a round square e.g. He is indeed bound (if you want to say it that way) to some things. He is bound to his own nature. He is love. He can't be unloving. He also can't lie (as the Bible states itself). And he can't be illogical, as he is the personified wisdom (Proverbs 6). John even calls him "Logos". That has more meaning to it than just "word". Or term logic derives from that. Some Christians state that God cannot be understood when some problem occurs with their theology. They state contradictory statements about God that seem to be true by scripture and justify them by saying God is greater than our minds. But that is just bad theology. If there are two statements who seem to contradict each other we need to look deeper and look how they fit together. Than we can get a deeper understanding of God. 1 Cor 2,10: "these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God."

That's my reasoning too. If you can grasp the being of God fully then that would conclude that you surpass the creator. I'm not saying we can't know but God gave the revelation to know him through his Son.

The only groups within the walls of Chistendom so to speak, that I can point to that don't believe in the divinity of Christ, are Jehovahs Witnesses & Mormons.

Very specific and reasonable. Thank you very much for always getting and providing the right evidence for being a true Christian. The Risen of Jesus Christ had proven everything. May God continue to bless you abundantly for using your wisdom for exalting HIS True Kingdom.

I've had many supernatural occurrences in my life that could have only come from the Divine. The strange thing is that when I speak of them I am met with either hostility or disbelief. The irony is that the hostility comes from the church goers who claim to follow Jesus' word. That's okay. Nothing is going to separate me from Jesus, our Lord and Savior. ✝️🙏👑🌻

I,too, have had legitimate miracles, including direct intervening to save my life (even from myself). The reactions i get are also widely varied. Honestly, only pentecostal/methodist , churches seem open. It's really sad, because i was raised Baptist, and didn't know the power of the Holy Ghost until i was born again and experiencing it myself ... and dispensationalists don't even want to believe that He intervenes today. Please pray for our brothers and sisters who have been blinded and deafened by the lies of the enemy and this world.

It is not only bias, but years of programming from even well-meaning ministers that may not have conveyed to us the true nature of God. That God is a spirit and His spirit is not limited by time, by space, or ability. So, just as a spirit can demonically possess a human, certainly Jesus's body could be inhabited by the actual Holy Spirit of the unlimited, omniscient Creator.

The resurrection would prove that God raised him. But God could raise anyone, so that wouldn’t prove that Jesus himself IS God. Is there any bible proof that Jesus himself was the cause of the resurrection?

Same thought. But to some extent it justifies Jesus claims, I guess. You could ask "why would God ressurect Jesus, if his claims to be God weren't true but blasphemy?"

Hi sir you may read (John 2:18-22) So the Jews answered and said to him, 'What sign do you show to us, since you do these things?' Jesus answered and said to them, 'Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.' Then the Jews said, 'It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?' But he was speaking of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.

Or (John 10:17, 18) Therefore my Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again .

Jesus is God the Son. The triune God (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) is another supernatural mystery. IOW, In His earthly ministry, Jesus was God incarnate.

Did anybody witness Jesus rise from the dead or was his body just missing from the tomb? I know there were many followers who claimed seeing Jesus in their dreams or visions but how about returning in the flesh?

Yes they did see him in the flesh. His disciple Thomas was actually able to put his hand into Jesus' pierced side and his finger through the nail holes in Jesus' hands

Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:24‭-‬29 ESV bible.com/bible/59/jhn.20.24-29.ESV

Interestingly all 4 gospels write that it was the women first who saw the risen Jesus. At that time women were not allowed to witness in court and their testimony was not legally binding. If the disciples had made up these stories of people seeing the risen Jesus Christ they had certainly not chosen _women_ to be the first witnesses. Paul doesn't even mention the women later in his letter to the Corinthians when he lists the ~550 people who had seen the risen Jesus because he clearly knew that women's testimony wouldn't get accepted. Today this fact is strong evidence that the description in the gospels is indeed the truth.

Because he didn't come to say he is god. He came to serve mankind not to demand worship. But he never stopped people who worshipped him, people can do miracles in the name of god. But no human can forgive sins. Jesus forgave sins (only god can do that) there are many things in the Bible indirectly says Jesus is God. All you have to do is read carefully. Phillipians 2:6 all though he's in the image of God he never thought it as robbery to be equal with father. Jesus is equal to father but he respects and love his father that's the whole point. God bless 😇

John 8:23-24 King James Version 23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he(the Father), ye shall die in your sins.

Philippians 2:5-6 (Paul on Jesus) Colossians 2:9-10 (Paul on Jesus) John 10:30 (Jesus) John 10:33 (Jesus) John 5:18 (Jesus) John 1:1 (John on Jesus) John 8:57-58 (Jesus) John 13:18-19 (Jesus) Revelation 1:17-18 (Jesus) John 20:27-28 (Thomas on Jesus) 2 Peter 1:1 (Peter on Jesus) Acts 20:28 (Paul on Jesus) If Jesus wasn't God, there was no forgiveness of sin. One last for you: John 8:24 "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am He, you will indeed die in your sins.” Jesus is God. Trust in him and he will forgive your sins. If he was just a human, he had no power to forgive sins, he had not even the power to live a just life. But as he was also God, he was able to live righteous and be punished for our sins and has the power to overcome death and enables us to do also.

Apparently Thomas thought Jesus is God... John 20:28-30 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” The Purpose of John’s Gospel 30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe[b] that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Hello. Hope you’re having a good day. It’s incorrect to say that Jesus did not claim to be God. He did. I’ll only give a few examples though there are others: 1. In Mark 2:1-12 there’s a paralytic who is taken to Jesus by his friends to be healed. Verse 5 says: When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” The teachers of the law thought, wait a minute, (verse 7) “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Yet here was Jesus telling this dude that his sins were forgiven.) On top of that, in answer to the teachers of the law Jesus says in verse 10 “But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” 2. Son of Man. Jesus calls himself “the Son of Man” several times in the gospels (e.g. Mark 1:10; Mark 2:28; Luke 19:10) - What is the title in reference to? A vision in the book of Daniel. Daniel 7:13-14 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” Here this “Son of Man” is given “sovereign power”, ALL nations and peoples worship him, his kingdom is one that will “never be destroyed.” Only God has that type of authority, no? Jesus claimed to be that Son of Man from the vision. 3. Mark 14:61-64 ...the high priest asked Him (Jesus), saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One (God)?” Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “What further need do we have of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death. The high priest found Jesus’ words to be blasphemous. Jesus was making a big claim. Also, when Jesus said “I am”, he used the name that God had revealed to Moses when God was going to free the Israelites from Egyptian captivity. See: Exodus 3:13-14 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” 🙏🏾
