I think you're taking the wrong examples for the peaceful civil disobedience. In poland and all the other examples, there were already people in power who favored the change, communism was on it's way out by the time of the protests. The venezuelan situation looks to me more like the romanian one in 1989 - Ceacescu didn't give up, didn't step down, and I'm having a hard time believing maduro won't either. And Ghandi? Bruh... Ghandi and MLK were working within democracies, countries where protests like these are a tool/method of political participation, aka part of the system, not protests against the system itself. If the uk was a dictatorshit at the time like Maduro, they would've gunned him down and his supporters asap, same with MLK - these incidents and the current Venezuellan situation have almost nothing in common.

If you'll pardon the light brown-nosing - you're clarity and insight into the situation is accurate, insightful and a relief. The number of online sources misunderstanding the situation is astounding, the fact these people also have such large platforms, yet such shallow analysis, is concerning.

I would also add that in the case of the Eastern Block it happened during the late Soviet Union that depended on the West for food and was threatened with blocking humanitarian aid if they would attempt to use the army against the peaceful protest. We have seen in Prague an example of what would happen to peaceful protestors who had support of the local communist government without such threats.

Get the Holy Roman Catholic Pope to work with the Venezuela leaders to install special religious knightly titles, AND THEN work with Monarchies in Europe to work out titles such as Duke, Viscount, barón etcetera... By giving the dictator's government members titles - there will be order. Accountability is lacking so much in Venezuela. Every corrupt politician pretends to be of the people with no responsibilities beyond that of a temporary job that is actually permanent. I know no one would do what i mentioned. No Leftist wants responsibility - they only say "comrade" or "dear leader"

My family was labeled “traitors to the nation” for leaving looking for opportunities. If I were to go back to visit, there’s a chance they’ll put me in jail and I wont be able to leave the country. I’m 35 now, I haven’t seen family members in all those years. Whats even worse, I have new cousins I have never met in person. Friends and family members who I was close to as a kid now have kids I have never met. Dictatorships and socialist governments are a horrible. I always believed the people who support them are either getting paid by it or have never actually experienced it.

They get lots of doctors and nurses are well educated, and don’t forget the Cuban Americans who are in politics don’t want Cuba because then they become irrelevant. The US has a military base in Cuba. They could take the country in a weekend, parachute cases or pallets of pork and Budweiser.
