Considering that the internet derived from Military secret communication, it should stay that way. It’s only the greedy that exploit this. So the battle for our privacy continues. Congratulations to Proton for keeping our privacy their main priority. Thank you👍 Australia🇦🇺

Lack of end to end encryption should be treated as negligence. Use signal protocol, S/MIME, OpenPGP, Dark Internet Mail Environment, MTproto, TLS1.3/ECH, DKIM, CAA Auth, DANE, etc, all that apply or be held liable.

Actually, Zukerberg wasn't the first with this scheme of people gladly providing all their information for public display. It was the creators of websites offering opportunities for foreign brides-Russian, Ukranian, Philippine, Latin and the list goes on. These websites were for the benefit of domestic and foreign intelligence agencies.

Unless senders of information are required to be supplied with a public key with the email address, the destination of information is very irrelevant outside of secure storage by the receiver. Also, companies can forward data to advertisers parallel to sending an encrypted message to users thereby feigning privacy. Still, requiring the underlying architecture that provides encryption to/from content providers would be a step in the right direction... and how do you fill out a form/application/etc on paper and provide a public key for encryption purposes? Not possible, but could be remedied by email validation which could gather the necessary information. What is sad though, is encrypted communication is available in so many ways and corporations just don't bother to utilize them. Utilities like Bitwarden, LastPass, RoboForm, etc., could make pubic/private keys as simple to use as filling in an email and password. Thank you for your talk and for Proton.

Great idea but not sure you can trust any tech company to keep your "privacy" private. Proton is built with the support of " Innosuisse - Swiss Innovation Agency" as well as the European Union's Horizon 2020 program. Chairman of the Innovation Council of Innosuisse since 2017 is Alois Zwinggi - a member of the Managing Board of the World Economic Forum.

Okay I hate his argument. So Proton was not keeping any logs. Then they were ordered to from the Swiss court to start collecting logs on this one person. You make it seem like they took logs from the beginning then handed it over this is not the case.

@@theriddickulusnes4564 Yeah just like how every single company ever that wants to stay in business is legally obliged to follow warrants they will have to do it again if ordered to. At least they don't do it by default like most other countries.

@@theriddickulusnes4564 Yeah if a government waves a warrant you have to give that info up. Because guess what if you don’t then you won’t be a company anymore and you’ll end up in prison. And you obviously don’t understand how Swiss privacy laws work and what you need to do to get the Swiss government to issue any such warrant.
