I know Ken doesn't believe in emergency funds. I think he has mentioned even having 4 months aside is nuts to him. He feels he can liquidate stocks and have the money clear in his account in a few days if he needed it, so is happy for just a small amount to be put aside for short term spending.

Great episode as always. Probably unpopular opinion - Only buy car if you can buy it full in cash and actually not take a loan, as the front loading of interest means you're gonna pay for the cost of car and most of the compounded interest anyway. However, with property (especially a growing one), we ought to take maximum loan to maximize our returns as this is good debt as we're borrowing to grow our asset.

I'm from California, after working for many years, I realized I want to retire early thru growth/crypto investing so that I can have time to sit and think deeply about life, connect to my intuition and purpose to serve others, which is not possible when your energy is going toward a job in the rat race! Also I really am not good with the workplace politics. So like you said, freedom :) Loved what you said about investing being an emotional journey of learning how you behave when markets go thru their ups and downs. This is SUCH great advice 👍. If you start investing while you're young and learn these mistakes then, you will be set. Your mindset changes when you have children or become older.

Thank you for covering this topic. Certainly helps younger people to understand the perspective from someone who has attained financial freedom. It took me quite a while after entering the workforce to realise that people do not automatically retire because they grow older, somehow some retirement account appears and can feed them for the rest of their life etc. -_-" Its more of the passive income that you have achieved or acquired that allows you to do that.

Hope Benny sees this, as I'm intrigued by his comments about "Forgo positive income cashflow properties" at about 18:37, that I viewed it again today. A question that I have is what will Benny do when he is in his 50s and assuming retirement age at 65. Will he continue to (1) buy+sell or (2) keep the positive cashflow property for passive income? How can I analyze this mathematically? Maybe can learn about this during the upcoming webinar this weekend.

Good discussion, agree all except downgrading your house. In my opinion, retirement is not about downgrading but rather maintaining your present lifestyle (including your house) and doing things you enjoy. In another word, you don't even need to upgrade during your active life if you know you cannot maintain it when you retire.😉

If Warren Redlich is correct, I'll be able to retire very soon, but I've never really considered what to do after. For the first time in my life, all work would be optional, and that's such an odd feeling. I've always worked for the purpose of getting "better work". I studied in class to graduate, I worked hard to get promoted, I quit my job to go to a better job. All work that I've done has been for the purpose of doing another type of work that advances my career. But what do I do if my stock portfolio accelerates me to the end? Well, it's not a very bad problem to have, so I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

As long as your expense is low enough you can probably retire now. Getting a passive income of 20% per year is pretty easy and with just $100K invested, 20K a year is more than enough for most retirement plans. If you don't have 100k just live with a smaller retirement budget. If you can't make 20% per year, just follow ken's investment strategy blindly and you will get that return.
