This is an excellent video, especially for those with 60s-80s BMW motorcycles. They began with the piston carbs, and later changed to the diaphragm+butterfly carbs.

I couldn't go through your entire video.. my question is "I have a diapram, volume control type air screw CV carburetor in my bike and I heard in those kind of carburetor air screws works as a volume controller for pre mixed petrol air mixture supply to the ignition chamber instead of changing the ratio of mixture when it is screw or un screw" Am I right or wrong... And how could we find the optimum set point of air screw when we adjust it for maximum milage...

hi ! This video was really helpful in understanding the working. Can you please make a similar video on how to tune a carb for optimal performance ? As you know the working principle of the carb, And it will icing on cake if you explain the effects of lean and rich mixture on the engine.
@yusufcaliskan85005 жыл бұрын
İf you need a more performance air fuel mix.(pilot jet) Screw little loose lie half turn. Stage2 main jet size up. ı think
@HalfdeadRider2 жыл бұрын
@@yusufcaliskan8500 That is not quite what he means, if your engine runs too lean the revs will creep down rather than settle quickly to idle, too rich and they will drop below idle before coming up again. You tune each carb to get a strong idle and keep checking how it is when revved and left to settle, should as said drop quickly to idle and stay without dropping below. Tune carbs when at operating temperature too. There is a small chance I got the rich and lean the wrong way around, but sure that is correct, and still should help you tune them correctly.

Hi. My 350 CC Royal Enfield has BS29 UCAL carburetor. I just wanted to know that when we tune the carburetor for optimum mixture of fuel & air. We turn AFR screw. So when we turn the AFR screw (of BS29 carburetor) CLOCKWISE, it makes the air fuel mixture rich or lean...? It's a very small question but I found it very controversial. Because lot of people says, if we turn the AFR screw (of BS 29 carburetor) clockwise, it will increase the fuel. And some says, it will increase the air....🙄 So please help me for that...🙏 Thanks.
