I’ve been using these switches for about a year. They are great if you want heavy switches

Just got mine in, thanks for the quick shipping, and I'm enjoying them quite a bit! Become more of a heavy tactile guy so finding a nice heavy linear is quite refreshing!

Cherry switches are really nice. While they di require a lot more work to be nice, the sound and feel is hard to beat compare to other seitches

I've had stock Nixies from the first run in one of my boards CONSISTENTLY since I got them. I'm considering getting another batch or two and just abandoning other switches to be honest. There's no need for me to get anything else, I'm so pleased with them!

same, they are awesome

Are they heavy? I am in search of some heavy either linear or tactile switches.
@NewPraetorianBlues4 ай бұрын
@@geeker9545 not to me anymore, I believe 80g bottom out, I replaced them with some oiled Sprit Supremes, 72g because that’s all I had when the springs started getting noisy, but they’re still fantastic. If you want a heavy linear this is the best place to start.

@@NewPraetorianBlues Thank you very much, I am already searching for some time and I bounced into Kailh Box Navy but they're clicky, I would disturb everyone else with them, I mean, they are maybe perfect for me, if I would be alone since there is heaviness and tactile bump... :D But so far I found these MX Switches in Milktooth with 31% off (4,15 USD / 10 switches) and there's more detailed info for every switch and when it comes to their actuation weight there's written "This actuation is heavier than 84% of other switches' actuation force in our selection." And when it comes to their bottom-out, there's written "This Nixie has a heavier bottom-out than 85% of switches in our selection. This is considered heavy." I am wondering what switches are even heavier (maybe clicky ones) but clearly in linear or tactile department.

@@geeker9545 Heavier stock springs than Cherry Black is uncommon. Cherry Grey Linear and Tactile are out there, but expensive. I think there's a version of NK Creams that have 100g+ springs, and maybe some other niche switches, but 80g is usually the highest you'll find. I prefer aftermarket springs anyway. Sprit Supremes for short springs, and TX Long for long springs if you want extra snap on the return.

It feels like everyone who has been in the hobby for awhile has the same experience with cherries. They start with cherries, spend many years avoiding them like the plague, and then come full circle right back to them and use them in every build. I’ve seen some comments saying that they’re boring or plain sounding, but i whole heartedly disagree. I’ve tried so many switches and frankenswitchs and thus far nothing has even come close to sounding like them. And you’ve said, they have this familiar, nostalgic, and even comfortable feeling when using them that I don’t really get from any other switch.

cherries and milky top yellows are the only switches I use nowadays, no other hype thocc creamy long pp and other buzz word linears come close to the feel and sound of cherries and milky tops
@keagan53794 ай бұрын
@@polynotgone8349 same here pretty much. All my other switches now just sit in containers on the wall as decoration lol. I've also discovered lately that I really like mx browns, I just assumed they were trash for so many years because of the memes (and I usually hate tactiles) but I think they might actually be my favorite switch.

Are Nixies viable stock? I feel like the general consensus is that they sound way better lubed/filmed/spring swapped. Thoughts? @milktooth

I dont get the hype around nixies tbh. They produce such a plain sound to me
