Have a look at Rat Park a study by Canadian psychologist Bruce K. Alexander in 1978. This study shows the role of the environment and social interaction on addictive behavior. It went a long way to debunking the chemical anchor theory of addiction. In the study rats were given The key discovery from the Rat Park experiment was that healthy social interaction significantly affected addiction. Rats were given a choice between regular water and morphine laced water. When in an unhealthy environment without social interaction the rats opted for the morphine laced water. When placed in Rat Park with a fun environment to explore and with other rats to interact with and properly socialize with, the rats stopped drinking the morphine laced water and overwhelmingly opted just for regular water. The findings showed that Rats in a supportive community were less likely to choose the morphine-laced water. This strongly refuted the chemical anchor theory of addiction.

Not exactly. These are usually restricted substances because although they can have legitimate uses they also have dangerous uses. This happens with other things in other countries too (eg dynamite can be used in mining but also in crime). Normally you need proof of legitimate purpose, to track the use of etc. The problem is China just allows these chemicals to be easily sold to what it views as enemy states. If you are familiar with the Chinese idea of unrestricted warfare (超限戰) you will know and understand that this is how the CCP government is operating now. The DPRK is even worse in this respect but has less power/exports to be able to do this.

We could go to a flat tax with a large standard deduction for all entities with an alternative of 1/2 as a basic income. All money not retained for business purposes should be taxed over the standard deduction. The solution is simple: decriminalization if not outright legalization, along with sensible regulation and providing adequate services like treatment on demand. Both Portugal and Switzerland have amply demonstrated the success of this approach. The United States tried banning a drug already, it's called alcohol. How'd that work out?

Oregon has gone in that direction and it's gone horribly wrong. Normally I favour decriminalisation of drugs. But fent is a monster. Switzerland and Portugal don't have fent yet.

@@Ok_yes_its_me Oregon has gone wrong for a simple reason: unlike Portugal and Switzerland, no treatment on demand services were rolled out along with decriminalization. ("How Oregon Became a Linchpin for the Country’s Drug Policies," NYT). Decriminalization, if properly implemented, simply works. Finally, what is your source that there is no Fent in Portugal or Switzerland?

That's a lie, Portugal has huge problems with addicts. Why do you need treatment when people shouldn't becoming addicts in the first place? South Korea and other East Asian nations don't have these problems because they don't let them start in the first place

@@OnlineEnglish-wl5rp "That's a lie" No need to be rude. Ever heard of civil discourse? You may find that conversations are much more productive that way. Now, turning to the facts: after decriminalization in 2001, overdoses in Portugal plummeted from 369 in 1999 to just 30 in 2016. That's from "Then & Now Portugal's Dr1g Decr*minalization," Statista. Also, as I mentioned in my original comment, how'd the US's experience with Prohibition turn out? Finally, what is your source for your statement that South Korea or China don't have any problems with dr*g use?

It's intentional. Her goal is to blame China to manufacture consent to go to war with China. She mentions China like 200 times and not a word about the Shackler Purdue Pharma that drugged Americans with Oxycodone to begin with. Remember NY Times also lied about the Hamas r@pe story at the beginning of the invasion to justify slaughtering 40K Palestinians and 15K of them are babies and children.
