Brazil is now moving to join China Belt and Road Initiative which will change the entire future of South America. China has a massive presence in South America but for the past 11 years, Brazil has been waited on the sidelines. What happens if South America's largest economy Brazil joins China's BRI? The same thing that happened to Peru joining the BRI, huge infrastructure deals and better economic trading! Let's break it down

China's aim is to shut those military bases without a war, starting with the dollar reserve statute, right now the US is spending 1 trillion in interest on its debt alone, once the fed can't export its dollar as many countries stop using it inflation will go up as all; that dollars they created will come back home to roost.

Not so simple in spite of US imperialism and double standards. USSR industrialized by getting US architects to build mass production factories. Stalin and Kruschev admitted USSR would have lost in 1941 without US Lend Lease aid. China was liberated from Japanese occupation by US war in Pacific! India was freed from British looters and famine-creators by FDR forcing Churchill to sign Atlantic Declaration in return for Lend Lease. Unlike Russia and China, USA is not a reactionary empire.

@melusinhlapo6903. ----- If one analyzes current BRI projects, it is apparent that China is quite good at constructing the projects, but the projects themselves make no sense economically. Best example of this is the Gwadar port in Pakistan (who is a key Chinese ally). The port looks modern and beautiful, but in 2023 they only received 23 ships all year. Total disaster and now Pakistan has to pay them back for the white elephant.

2200 years ago the original Silk Road started from China ending up in Afghanistan and later into Europe. 2013 saw the revival of this silk road under Belt Road initiative. China never colonizes however always focussed on trading because money makes the world go around. there is a nation which built 650 military bases all over thinking that when push comes to shove, boots on the ground is a must...that is century old strategy which is obsolete, dinosaurish and dead...when nations lay down their weapons and turn into plowshare then there is no time wasted on skirmishes wars occupation. even Saudi and Iran saw the need to reconcile and so did 14 factions of Palestine came together to put down their warring destructive bitterness to form a coalition so that they can administer Palestine when and if UN ever give it a seat as a member. China took a page from the playbook of the Marshall Plan and now share the initiative to those who wants it. Never forcing Never oppressing Never suppressing. Fostering goodwill and economics are the strategy for 21st century

Right! maintaining good relationship with US for “security reason” is actually to prevent or avoid unilateral sanction or regime change potential. On the other hand, China doesn’t do any of that as Chinese just want to trade or do business based on mutual-agreed terms that is a win-win for both sides.

As a Brazillian, I’m glad to see this move. Brazil is a huge country and it’s a strategic place around the world, as it occupies almost the south american continent. What concerns me is the corruption and the hidden agenda and influence USA historically have in this area. Not many people know, but it was an American move that boosted the army against Brazil’s president in 1968 and stablished a coup. This is what USA did the most in the XX century, and now with its economics in a downfall, its political influence is no longer relevant as this man has been saying: China is offering something “tangible” when you deal with them.

As a Brazilian, I can comfortably say that "bringing democracy" 3:50 is not what the US does. They staged coups in every Latin American country in the 20th century, including two coups in Brazil. The US does not have bilateral interests with Brazil. On the other hand, China builds ports and roads, and when talking to various Chinese people, it becomes clear that it’s a matter of cooperation; we feel equal to one another. Meanwhile, North Americans consider themselves the bearers of truth and leaders of the continent. It's this American arrogance that makes me sympathize much more with the Chinese.

As a Brazilian, I have been hoping for the last 5-6 years that Brazil would steer our international policies to be closer to China. Bolsonaro's election was a move by the US imperial strategists to prevent that from happening, and it worked somewhat. Despite Lula's incompetence in most areas as a statesman, he has shown to be willing to strengthen relations with China, as he understands that China is the future, and a peaceful partner. However, the US empire has treated South America as it's backyard for so long, that it will be a gigantic struggle for south American nations to detangle from US meddling. My biggest worry is that the US will not let this happen without a REAL fight, including coup d'états, false flag attacks, and everything in the CIA rulebook. We can just hope that China will keep playing its cards right, as they have done masterfully for the last years. And they will help the influence transition in South America to happen as smoothly as possible. The downfall of US society, politically and economically, may help this process tremendously, and the whole world has to hope it comes as quickly as possible.

Another probable reason why Brazil began to consider China's Belt and Road Initiative is France's rejection of the free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosul (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay), which had been under negotiation for about 20 years. Latin America has always been constrained by American and European protectionism, yet is often criticized by these same countries for aligning with non-democratic nations. The freedom to choose is reserved for already established and developed countries. Countries in development have to find opportunities wherever they show up.

The Chinese have been a very capitalist people for thousands of years, it is in their genes, regardless of the regime in place. China is one of the oldest countries in the world and has always traded with a capitalist policy. China is older than the United States or even Europe, its mentality and pragmatism are totally different. As proof, it took less than fifty years to develop and radically change perspective. The United States and the West in general are resting on their laurels. So, nothing surprising when we analyze the history of civilizations.
