China is definitely not ahead of India 50 years. Most Chinese in rural area lived in mud hut just 50 years ago (water leaked when birds made nests in the dried fronds :) ). I know we can still find some mud huts in rural areas of India today, but definitely unlike China was like 50 years ago. I believe India will be different after 20 years.
