So when we see the population of India today, they will think that only by developing manufacturing can India enable such a large population to live a decent life. But in China’s self-media, India is all about boycotting Chinese investment. Therefore, India is not considered a threat at all. In the economic field, it is not even as big a threat as Vietnam and Indonesia. If India vigorously develops manufacturing, tilts its policies towards manufacturing, and attracts investment like China did in the 1980s and 1990s, no matter where the funds come from (China), then China will regard India as a threat (economically) , As for the military, it is impossible for China and India to have a war within 50 years.

Many people believe that India will start to rely on its large and young population to develop like China in the past. I think India will develop in the future, but it will be difficult to match China. Because many people have overlooked one point. In the era when China was enjoying the demographic dividend, almost all manufacturing relied on manual labor, and there was not much automation technology at that time. Now, automation and AI are developing so fast that they can completely replace humans in mid- and low-end manufacturing industries. Using automated equipment and AI technology to produce products in factories in China may be much cheaper and more reliable in the future than relying on manual production in India. I agree with your points. However, manufacturing is not all alone to develop the country. Agri, services can also contribute significantly. The race ahead is not to match china in manufacturing capabilities. That's not the target. The race is to drive innovation, build resilient services, and be self-sufficient in manufacturing. Target is to achieve 25% manufacturing contribution in the next 24 years from 17% now. The target is to drive all the engines to propel. Driving innovation will make local goods cheaper than the imported ones as automating industries is not an isolated task of china. This has been already proven by import substitution strategies implemented in India in the past few years. Progressively producing more and more non-commoditized goods is the key ultimately to drive growth. I don't see any possibility of free trade agreements with china in the next 50 years as well for industries to compete directly on price points across the borders. And by the way India has time for the next 60 years to accomplish because of slower aging and slower prospects of population decline in the near future.

Indian tractor companies are there in china but there are no chinese tractor companies in India 😊 Technological industries - India is still in the ground work for technological industries. But I can say, petroleum, minerals industries are quiet established and strong to compete at global level even though not in all kind of minerals.
