Well, the UFC really set a terrible example by giving constant title shots to Colby Covington, a guy who only beats older fighters coming out of multiple losses, sits for a year, and then gets granted a title shot. I have nothing personal against Gane, he seems like a chill dude he even plays video games and stuff. But god is he deslikable as a fighter/competitor, ducks absolutely everybody inside the top 5. And instantly wants to fight aspinal as soon as he becomes the interim champion, when he literally just declined aspinalls offer 2 weeks prior in paris. NGL huge part of this ciryl gane shenanigans is also just the UFC. He has 2 great usages for the UFC, 1, he went to a close decision against Ngannou whom the UFC absolutely despises. 2, he can be used as a meatshield for Jones so Jones doesn't have to fight Aspinal. \ Because of this theyre going to give him what he wants, not what he should be getting. He SHOULD be fighting either Almeida or Stipe, he lowkey doesn't even deserve Blaydes or Pavlovich. Let Alone aspinal, also yes stipe ABSOLUTELY doesn't deserve a undisputed title shot right now.

Also if by the time he lost to Jones when we though he was gonna be fighting the entire top 10 of thw HW division Gane avoided Aspinall and Curtis because it was a danger to his career. Gane and his team are trying to play his career smart, can’t blame them for that 🤷🏽‍♂️ other successful fighters did/have done/are doing the exact same things as him; and other well known fighters have also said the exact same kind of stuff he’s getting hate for about picking fights smartly in interviews. Aspinal and Blaydes both know how the game goes sometimes, they’ve probably both played it themselves and/or will in the future (well maybe not Aspinal, he actually does seem like the type who would never do something against what he considers honorable and fair even at the expense of himself and his team. I respect that a lot, but my point still stands). I’ve never seen fighters in another division be this upset about someone playing part of the game before, I wonder why heavyweight? Could be cus it’s one of the two smallest divisions, so there just aren’t enough people a prospect/contender can fight to get where they want to be; and when the primary person they could fight to get up there turns them down, the lack of alternatives in the division breeds more resentment towards that person. Kinda how flyweight (the other of the two smallest divisions) had/has a problem of the same people getting rematched and title shots at a rate higher than any other division

Gane was never good to begin with. If guys like that are thrown into interim title fights you know your HW-division is severely lacking in talent. There is like a handful of decent fighters and the rest is on contract, cause the UFC needs bodies to throw in there. By far the weakest division in the UFC for years, heck decades if we're being honest. Extreme weightclasses like Flyweight and Heavyweight come with these kinds of issues I guess.
