@P J ! You know it! This video content is really irrefutably all based on Etienne de La Boetie (1552) “The Politics of Obedience: Discourse on Voluntary Servitude”. I'm shocked the uploader did not mention Boetie at all or give him any credit! John Stuart Mill's "Ön Liberty" is also an offshoot from Boetie's foundational book.

The corollary to that is that tyranny is based on the desire of the people to be saved from having to take care of themselves and face a challenging and ambiguous environment. The people who elect tyrants and demagogues are the ones who invite the evils being practiced on us now. What we need is to change our culture, our education, and especially our expectations from the encouragement of hedonism, welfare dependence, and rent-seeking behavior to being about virtue and self government.

@@Chadthefatherbear That's because Marxism is all about destroying what is instead of building and fixing. It's deconstruction instead of reconstruction. Every Marxist is completely defined by their perceived opposition. This is why it bases itself on maintaining a hierarchy of victimized and their oppressors. It can't build or sustain anything, because Marxist are nothing without an enemy. They will manufacture it if necessary. The important message I learned from this video, that it is all about civil disobedience. It starts with individuals dissidents who act as motivating examples for larger movements of civil disobedience. One example dissident I see at the moment is street pastor and political activist Artur Pawlowski who is clashing with the Canadian regime and is trown in jail 3 times in short period. He is not afraid and the regime feels that.

I like the finish with ol’ Henry David. Naturalists thrive on true freedom. Often this brings them to the wilderness, where they experience an absence of societal pressure and suppression and dive into a truer sense of living. Edward Abbey once said “society is like a stew. If you don’t stir it up once in awhile then a layer of scum floats to the top.” For me, I live to be in the mountains, and after months of hiking alone I come back with a further understanding of freedom and the dilemma with our enslaving society. So my advice to add, “Go take a hike, for as many days possible. You’ll come back wiser, freer, happy, and a better rebel than ever before!” :)

They fear, if they rebel, losing their retirement/401k/National Pension Plan, their homes, propery, investments, children, etc... It's rational to fear losing these things if one has worked their whole life under the impression that it would pay off. However, under future potential tyranny, these same people should realize it will likely be stripped from them anyways. The problem occurs when each generation thinks they can just kick the can down the road just a littttle bit more.

I bought a mobile phone primarily to call tow trucks when out driving desolate country roads (especially in -40 weather). I plan on either ditching the smartphone or effectively making it nearly un-exploitable (it's possible) just like hacking any device... you don't necessarily need to ditch it, just bend it to your advantage and against theirs! Yes, though I'm slowly getting rid of excess big-tech comfort, thanks for the words of encouragement!

@@wj3186 sorry for the late reply I just saw this but here is my answer: Ever since the pandemic started, I started paying more attention to the politicians who have instituted lockdowns and realized that the people at the top do not have our best interest at heart. All they cared about was their power. It took me some time to deal with the fact that the system I trusted so much did not work the way it was supposed to. It was chaotic and sometimes I felt like I was losing mind but in this journey I realized that only one who has the right to rule me is myself. I realized no one can have power over you if you don't let them have it. And these videos played a huge part in my evolution.

The section on being guided by one's conscience (11:00-11:35) has really rang true for me this past year, like never before. A little over a year ago I was forced to retire early because of the mandate. My hesitation prior to then was based on safety concerns. However, when the mandate came down in October 2021, I was outraged at being compelled to put something into my body, against my will, or lose my job. So I retired, 4-5 years earlier than planned. Perhaps the most tangible consequence of my decision was how isolated I immediately became at work, during the time between making the decision and then departing a little over a month later. Since all of my co-workers had already complied with this requirement, on a voluntary basis no less, the whole issue of my being forced to do this, against my will, never really registered with them. Although it was never said out loud, I suspect the main reaction on their part was: "we took it, so we don't see what the problem is." So, there was no outrage on their part that I was being forced to do this. None. These are all intelligent and compassionate individuals, but my unwillingness to comply created a chasm between us that remains to this day. Civil disobedience at the individual level can be a very lonely road to walk. However, if this is the path that is directed by one's conscience, loneliness far better thing to have to deal with than guilt and self-loathing for having given into pressure. James 1:2-4.

Its just nice to finally find myself and realize that I'm not a bad person just because I dont want to be controlled.
